A study was conducted on the production of LEFC using the Precast method, not the on-site construction. LEFC, Light Emotion Friendly Concrete, has the advantage of plastic rods being inserted to allow light to transmit, but because of the lack of adhesion to concrete, it leads to a decline in mechanical performance and durability. Therefore, it is necessary to apply precasting techniques to ensure homogeneous and superior quality of LEFC. In this study, wooden molds were used and plastic rods were arranged on porous acrylic plates. Prototyping was carried out with a UHPC mix proportioning to ensure flowability, self-consolidating performance and mechanical performance.

With the technological advancement of the construction industry, construction materials with future direction appeared. In Korea, LEFC(Light Emotion Friendly Concrete) has been developed and studied, which has improved labor productivity and economic efficiency over semi-transparent concrete by introducing transparent plastic rods into concrete matrix. However, there is a problem in that the bending performance is lowered according to the insertion of the rod and the bending performance is different according to the light transmission direction. In this study, the incorporation of PVA fibers in the direction of light transmission was increased and the change of flexural performance according to the interval of light transmission was examined.

A few years ago, the rapid degradation of domestic air quality has led to the efforts of exhaust gas policy and fine dust mask, but it is not a fundamental measure. In Korea, photocatalyst will be applied to residential and multi-use facilites to purify indoor and outdoor air. Also, in this study, it is tried to produce exposed concrete that is aesthetically pleasing as well as air purification of indoor by combining with light transparent concrete according to the increasing interest in human indoor living environment. For this purpose, we have developed a block formwork for photocatalysis light transparent concrete and established a suitable manufacturing method for on-site construction.

Light Emotion Friendly Concrete (LEFC) transmits light through plastic rods inserted in concrete to stimulate emotion and give new image to space. There is a characteristic that can give a diverse and sensuous feeling depending on the change of the diameter and the interval of the plastic. For the application in the field, it is necessary to analyze the mechanical characteristics according to the case. In this study, we investigate the change of the mechanical properties of the light transmitting concrete reinforced with PVA fiber according to the change of the diameter (5mm, 10mm) and spacing (10mm, 15mm, 20mm) of the plastic rod.

The effect of fine dust on indoor and outdoor atmospheric environment in Korea is getting larger and it is tried to solve this problem by incorporating photocatalyst. Conventional light transparent concrete (LEFC) arranges plastic rods to ensure light transmittance. However, it is difficult to secure sufficient fluidity due to the heterogeneity and spacing of the materials. In addition to the flow test, J-ring test and L-box test, which are ASTM standards or EN standards, are used to evaluate the fluidity and to find out the optimum mix design of light transparent concrete with self-consolidating performance.
패턴 디자인이 적용된 LEFC 시제품 제작 및 현장적용

Recently, exposed concrete designs have been placed everywhere due to increased interest in indoor residential environments. In addition, in order to overcome the disadvantages of litracon, which was developed by mixing optical fiber, LEFC(Light Emotion Friendly Concrete) was developed in Korea, which improved unit price and constructivity by inserting hard acrylic rods. LEFC, using foaming agent and lightweight aggregate for light weighting, has disadvantages that decrease mechanical properties, and thus improved mechanical properties by using ultra-high performance concrete. Also, due to the characteristics of UHPC materials, it showed excellent self-consolidating performance. Considering these characteristics, a LEFC mold with pattern design was developed. Interest in indoor air quality is increasing day by day due to various reasons such as industrial development. Because redmud, an industrial subsidiary, contains titanium dioxide, this study evaluated self-consolidation performance with Slump Flow Test, J-Ring Test, and L-Box Test by mixing redmud in a mixture of ultra-high performance concrete, and sought the optimal combination with high flowability. In addition, the UHPC mixing experiment with photocatalyst was conducted, and the photocatalyst was replaced by the weight ratio of cement and the redmud by the weight ratio of fine aggregate and mixed with the concrete mixture.
