웹기반 온라인 목록의 이용행태 연구

The primary questions addressed by this research are the followings : Has the interface of a Web-based OPAC been improved more user-friendly; How about its searching abilities; What difficulties have Web-based OPAC searchers experienced in using a Web OPAC; How do they perceive the system after use of it. Finding the answers of those questions the problems of a Web OPAC as a searching tool have been grasped and recommendations have been suggested in order to improve the system. An experiment was conducted and 30 university students performed 8 searching tasks. The searching behavior of Web OPAC searchers has been analyzed thoroughly. The data of their perceptions about the system was collected through a questionnaire after completing the tasks. 웹기반 온라인목록의 이용자 인터페이스는 이용자에게 더욱 친근하게 개선되었는가. 웹기반 온라인목록이 제공하는 탐색관련 기능은 어떠한가. 이용자들은 웹기반 온라인목록을 이용하는 데 어려움은 없는가. 이용자들은 웹기반 온라인목록에 대하여 어떤 인식을 가지고 있는가. 이런 문제에 대한 답을 통하여 웹기반 온라인목록의 검색도구로서의 문제점을 파악하고 개선방안을 제시하였다. 실험연구를 수행하였으며, 30명의 탐색자가 실험에 참여하였다. 탐색자가 웹기반 온라인목록을 실제로 탐색하는 과정중에 보이는 행태를 분석하여 데이터를 입수하였고, 탐색 후 질문지를 통하여 시스템에 대한 인식을 측정하였다.

정보추구행태모형의 비교 연구

정보추구행태를 연구한 문헌에서 제시된 모형들을 검토하고, 비교 ·분석하여, 정보추구행태에 관한 경험적 연구 설계에 활용할 수 있는 일반적 모형들을 제시하였다. 어떤 복합적 상황, 직업, 역할, 학문 영역에도 적용할 수 있는 모형에 초점을 맞추어 선택하였다. 논의된 모형은 Wilson(1981. 1996), Krikels(1983). Dervin(1983, 1996), Ellis(1989), Ellis, Cox와 Hall(1993), Kuhlthau(1991), Leckie, Pettigrew와 Sylvain(1996), Johnson(1997)에 의해 제시된 모형들이다. 모형이 구축된 시점을 중심으로 연대순으로 살펴보고, 비교 · 분석하였다. Models of Information seeking behavior were reviewed and analyzed. General models which could be utilized in designing empirical research of information seeking behavior were suggested. On general models of information seeking, applicable in multiple contexts. occupations, roles, and knowledge domains were focused. The models by Wilson. Krikelas. Dervin, Ellis. Kuhlthau, Leckie, and Johnson were examined chronologically.

어린이도서관 온라인목록의 탐색행태에 관한 연구

The primary questions addressed by this research are the followings: Have the OPAC interfaces of children's libraries been designed user-friendly; What difficulties have OPAC searchers experienced in using OPACs; How do they perceive the system after searching it; Through the answers of those questions the problems of OPACs for children as searching tools have been grasped and recommendations have been suggested in order to improve the OPAC interfaces. An experiment was conducted and 28 children of grades 4 to 6 performed 5 searching tasks. The searching behavior of OPAC searchers has been analyzed thoroughly. 온라인 열람목록의 이용자연구

CLR-OPAC 연구와 그 이후에 수행된 주요 온라인 열람목록의 이용자연구 결과를 분석, 종합하였다. 각 연구에서 다루고 있는 내용에 따라 이용자의 개인적 특성, 이용자 교육, 이용자 인터페이스의 세가지 범주로 나누어 기술하였다. 이용자 연구에 사용되는 각 데이터수집방법의 장단점과 각 방법을 통하여 입수할 수 있는 데이터의 유형에 대해서도 언급하였다. The findings of the CLR-OPAC studies and the major OPAC user studies are analyzed and sythesized. They are described, dividing into three categories: characteristics of users, user instruction, and user interface. Data gathering methods, and their strengths and weaknesses are also discussed.

인터넷 검색엔진을 이용한 어린이들의 정보탐색행태에 관한 연구

최근 어린이 전용 인터넷 검색엔진이 어린이들에게 주요한 정보 접근방법이 되고 있다. 어린이 전용 검색엔진이 제대로의 기능을 발휘하기 위해서는 검색엔진을 이용한 어린이들의 탐색행태에 관한 연구들이 수행되고, 그 결과가 시스템 설계와 개선에 응용되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 국내 대표적인 어린이 전용 검색엔진인 쥬니버와 야후꾸러기를 이용하여 초등학교 3학년 학생들의 정보탐색행태를 실험을 통해 분석하였고, 질문지와 면담을 통하여 참가자들의 개인적 특성과 시스템에 대한 인식을 측정하였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 어린이 전용 검색엔진의 문제점을 진단하고 개선방안을 제시하였다. Recently, children's internet search engines are becoming the main method to access information. For those engines to function properly, search behavior of children as their searchers should be studied and the findings be applied to design and improve the systems. So an experiment was conducted and 22 3rd-grade elementary school students performed 3 searching tasks through 'Junior Naver' and 'Yahoo!꾸러기' which are representative children's search engines in Korea. Children's searching behavior was analyzed thoroughly through which the problems of children's search engines were diagnosed and recommendations were suggested to improve them.

연구활동에 있어서의 비공식 커뮤니케이션

연구자들은 정보폭발에 대처하고 또 공식 커뮤니케이션으로 충족되지 않은 정보요구를 만족시키기 위하여 비공식 커뮤니케이션에 크게 의존하고 있다. 따라서 효율적인 정보제공이라는 정보시스팀의 궁극적인 목표달성을 위해서는 비공식 커뮤니케이션에 대한 충분한 연구가 이루어져 공식채널이 갖지 못한 비공식채널이 기능을 공식시스팀에 적용시키는 방안을 강구하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라에서도 이 방면에 활발한 연구가 이루어져 정보서비스의 효율화, 나아가서 과학 기술의 발전이 촉진될 수 있기 위하여 그 기초작업으로서 연구활동에서 비공식 커뮤니케이션의 의의 및 기능, 비공식 커뮤니케이션을 위한 사회조직인 비공식연구집단, 비공식 커뮤니케이션의 공식화 등을 문헌연구를 통하여 고찰하고자 한다. The purpose of the present paper is (1) to clarify the significance and the role of informal communication in research activities, (2) to grasp the characteristics of Invisible College, the social organization for informal communication, and its effect on research activities and (3) to pay consideration to formalization of informal communication systems. To comprehend all the things is necessary to improve information services.

어린이도서관 온라인목록의 인터페이스 분석

The purpose of this study was to analyze and evaluate the characteristics of online catalogs’ interface of children’s libraries, and to propose how to design user-friendly interfaces. The online catalogs of 77 children’s libraries which are registered on the National Library Statistics System as of December 2011 were analyzed. They are categorized into 7 types based on interface’s characteristics. Such topics as the features of search methods, the record display formats, the terminology usage, and the special features of the 7 types were examined and discussed. Some shortcomings were examined and how to improve them was suggested. 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 어린이도서관 온라인목록의 인터페이스를 분석하여 문제점을 진단하고, 기존시스템의 개선과 새로운 시스템의 설계 시에 고려해야 할 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 먼저 국가도서관통계시스템에 2011년 12월 현재 등록되어 있는 공공어린이도서관 77개관의 홈페이지에 접근하여 온라인 검색 기능이 제공되고 있는 시스템을 분석하고, 추가로 확인 가능한 어린이도서관 온라인목록을 분석하였다. 인터페이스의 특성을 약간 달리하더라도 동일한 유형의 시스템을 사용하는 어린이도서관의 수를 확인하여 많은 수의 도서관이 사용하는 시스템 유형을 우선적으로 분석의 대상으로 선정하였다. 또한 소수의 도서관이 사용하는 시스템이라도 그 특성을 달리하는 시스템을 분석 대상에 포함시켰다. 위와 같은 과정을 통하여 선정된 분석 대상 온라인목록의 유형은 총 7가지이다. 7가지 유형에 대하여 각각 검색방식, 검색결과의 제시화면, 용어 사용상의 문제, 제공하는 기능의 측면에서 분석하여 문제점을 진단하고 개선방향을 제시하였다.
