This paper introduce Renewable Energy forecasting technology, which is a part of renewable management system. Then, calculation method of dedicated transmission line's meteorological data to forecast renewable energy is suggested. As the case of dedicated transmission line, there is only power output data combined the number of renewable plants' output that acquired from circuit breakers. So it is need to calculate meteorological data for dedicated transmission line that matched combined power output data. this paper suggests two calculation method. First method is select the plant has the largest capacity, and use it's meteorological data as line meteorological data. Second method is average with weight that given according to plants' capacity. In case study, suggested methods are applied to real data. Then use calculated data to Renewable forecasting and analyze the forecasting results.

As the reduction of greenhouse gases(GHGs) emission has become a global issue, the microgrid markets are growing rapidly. With the sudden changes in the market, Korean government suggested a new business model called ’Self-Sufficient Energy Islands’. Its main concern is a stand-alone microgrid composed of Distributed Energy Resources(DERs) such as Renewable Energy Sources(RESs), Energy Storage System(ESS) and Fuel Cell, in order to minimize the emission of GHGs. According to these trend, this paper is written to propose an optimal sizing method of DERs in a stand-alone microgrid by using Genetic Algorithm(GA), one of the representative stochastic methods. It is to minimize the net present cost with the variables, size of RESs and ESS. In the process for optimization, the sunless days are considered as additional constraints. Through the case study analysis, the size of DERs installed in a microgrid system has been computed using the proposed method in MATLAB. And the result of MATLAB is compared with that of HOMER(Hybrid Optimization of Multiple Energy Resources), a well-known energy modeling software.

In recent years, the energy storage systems such as LiB, NaS, RFB(Redox-Flow Battery), Super- capacitor, pumped hydro storage, flywheel, CAES(Compressed Air Energy Storage) and so on have received great attention as practical solutions for the power supply problems. They can be used for various purpose of peak shaving, load leveling and frequency regulation, according to the characteristics of each ESS(energy storage system). This paper will focus at 1 MWh RFB system, which is being developed through the original technology project of energy material. The output of ESS is mainly characterized by C-rate, which means that the total rated capacity of battery will be delivered in 1 hour. And it is a very important factor in the ESS operation scheduling. There can be several options according to the operation intervals 15, 30 and 60minutes. The operation scheduling is based on the optimization to minimize the daily electricity cost. This paper analyzes the cost-saving effects by the each operating time-interval in case that the RFB ESS is optimally scheduled for peak shaving and load leveling.

According to the recent blackouts, large blackouts can be described by cascading outages. Cascading outage is defined by sequential outages from an initial disturbance. Sequential and probabilistic approach are necessary to minimize the blackout damage caused by cascading outages. In addition, conventional cascading outage analysis models are computationally complex and have time constraints, it is necessary to develop the new analytical techniques. In this paper, we propose the advance visualization model for probabilistic analysis of cascading failure risks. We introduce the visualization model for identifying size of cascading and potential outages and estimate the propagation rate of sequential outage simulation. The proposed model is applied to Korean power systems.
독립형 마이크로그리드 내 분산전원별 최적용량 결정 방법

In recent years, the power demand has been increasing steadily and the occurrence of maximum power demand has been moving from the summer season to the winter season in Korea. And since the control of electric power supply and demand is more important under those situations, a micro-grid system began to emerge as a keyword for the sTable operation of electric power system. A micro-gird power system is composed of various kinds of distributed generators(DG) such as small diesel generator, wind turbine, photo-voltaic generator and energy storage system(ESS). This paper introduces a method to determine the optimal capacities of the distributed generators which are installed in a stand-alone type of microgrid power system based on the fundamental proportion of diesel generator. At first, the fundamental proportion of diesel generator will be determined by changing from 0 to 50 percent. And then we will optimize the capacities of renewable energy resources and ESS according to load patterns. Lastly, after recalculating the capacity of ESS with consideration for SOC constraints, the optimal capacities of distributed generators will be decided.
