구강에서 Gandida Species 분포에 관한 연구

. A study was conducted in order to determine harborage of Candida species in oral cavity of 80 healthy volunteers, 8 cancer patients, 26 diabetes patients, 40 Hansen’s disease patients and 37 other patients who used steroid for a long period of time. Specimens were collected from oral cavities of the subjects by cotton swabs, and the specimens were cultured on corn meal agar. The results were summarized as follows : 1. Of 191 subjests Candida species were isolated from 72(37.7%) and C. albicans were from 57(29.8%). Of C. albicans 49(86%) were serotype A. 2. Candida species were isolated from 27(75%) of 37 patients using steroids. The same secies were isolated from 10(37.5%) of 26 diabetes patients. Three of eight cancer patients, ten of forty Hansen’s disease patients, and 22 of 80 healthy subjects had Candida species in their oral cavities. 3. Of 80 healthy subjects Candida species were isolated from 22 subjects(27.5%). C. albicans were isolated from 14 (17.5%), and C. tropicals from four sujects.
Trichophyton verrucosum의 진균학적 성상

Trichophyton(T.) verrucosum is a worldwide zophilic dermatophyte, A human infection was first reported in the south western part of Korea in1986. Gross observation on sabouraud dextrose agar and Trichophyton agar and hair perforation test were performed at 37℃. It's was clasified T. album, T. ochraceum, T. discoides were investigated for their mycological features. colinies morphology is T. alum and T. ochraceum showed fiat, glabrous T. discoides showed flat and tomentose on theif surface. The results are as follows; Tree types showed growth on the basal medium plus inositol and thinmine (Tricho-phyton agar No. 3), shwed poor growed on No. 4. All strains showed negative reaction on hair perforation tests and showed good growth at 37℃, showed white color. KOH solution as in to their colinies in Sabourd dextrose agar and results that all strains no absorption but T. album was 9 strains of aborption. .
대구지방 소아 및 토양에서 분리한 Microsporum gypseum의 교배형에 대한 연구

Microsporum gypseum complex의 교배형 및 감염원을 조사하기 위하여 대구에 거주하는 소아에서 분리한 M-gypseum 17주와 환자주변의 초등학교 운동장, 화단 및 어린이 놀이터의 토양에서 분리한 60주를 표준균주 A-gypsea 및 A.incurvata와 교배 실험을 실시 하였다. 소아에서 분리된 M.gypseum 17주의 성별 완전형의 분포는 남아에서 A.incurvata가 14주 이었고, A.gypsea는 3주 이었다. 여아에서는 A.incurvata만 4주 분리 되었다. 병형별 분리빈도는 Tinea facial가 A.gypsea 2주, A.incurvata 10주로 다른부위 보다 많이 분리 되었다. 교배형의 분포는 환자에서 분리한 17주중 A.gypsea는 3주중 "+"형 2주, "-"형이 1주 이었고, A.incurvata는 "+"형이 6주, "-"형이 8주 이었다. 토양에서 분리한 60주의 교배형의 분포는 A.gypsea는 31주중 "+"형 16주, "-"형이 15주 이었고, A.incurvata는 "+"형이 15주, "-"형이 14주 이었고 특히 소아에서 많이 분리된 A.incurvata가 어린이 놀이터에서 많이 분리된 것을 보면 소아의 M.gypseum 감염은 놀이터와 관련성이 있을 것으로 사료 된다. A study was conducted to evaluate isolation rate and distribution of mating type of M.gypseum complex Arthroderma(A.) gypsea and A.incurvata. Seventeen(17) strains were isolated from children patients and sixty(60) strains were from elementary school playgrounds, flower beds, and children,s playgrounds in Taegu area. The strains were crossed with test strains of A.gypsea and A.incurvata which were provided by Tokyo university. The results were summarized as follows; Ofseventeen(17) strains, thirteen(13) were isolated from male children and ten(10) were A.incurvata and three(3) A.gypsea, and four(4) were from female children and all four strains were A.incurvata. Face(Tinea facial) was more frequently affected to compare with other clinical type. Of seventeen(17) strains isolated from patients, six(6) were A.incurvata "+" type and eight(8) were "-" type, and two(2) were A.gypsea "+" type and one(1) was "-" type. Of sixty(60) strains isolated from soil, sixteen (16) were A.gypsea "+" type and fifteen(15) were"-" type. and fifteen(15) were A.incurvata "+" type and fourteen(14) were "-" type.
두부백선 치료에 따른 Microsporum canis 배양성적의 비교 연구

The clinical and mycological effect on tinea capitis due to Microsporum canis was studied. All ten patients were childrens, and they were treated with oral itraconazole. Mycologically, hairs were examined by the direct KOH method and culture. Periods of treatment were 6 weeks. The positive fmding in the mycological examination were 4 weeks by the direct examination of hairs. we can thus conclude hair on the lesions were important in evaluating the clinical effect, and PDCA was most useful in the detennining the mycological effect on tinea capitis.

The number of children patients with tinea pedis and onychomycosis diagnosed on clinical findings and culture at the Catholic Dermatological Clinic in Daegu City were 144,446 for 2 years from January 2005 to December 2006. 120 children were suspected of having clinical onychomycosis or tinea pedis. KOH smears and cultures on the Potato corn meal dextrose agars (PDCA) were done for the suspected toe webs, nails and uninvolved neighbor toe webs. Socks were dusted and cultured to check contamination of clothes. Family infections were checked by questionnaire. The incidence was 92 (0.06%) out of 144,446 outpatients in tinea pedis, 28 (0.02%) in onychomycosis. Trichophyton(T.) rubrums were isolated from all of the 7 cases of onychomycosis. T. mentagrophytes was isolated from 5 cases of the tinea pedis patients and T. rubrum was isolated from 50 (92.5%) cases of the tinea pedis. The right side was predominant for onychomycosis of both toe nails (23 of 25) and finger nails (3 of 3). No fungal elements were detected from normal looking neighbor toe webs by KOH examinations. However, culture on PDCA agars showed T. rubrum isolates from 3 toe webs. 7 showed positive cultures from the socks. From the questionnaire, 94 had family infections.

We observed the clinical and epidemiological status in 58 cases of Microsporum ferrugineum infectiony that were mycologically diagnosed at the Catholic Skin Disease Clinic from 1976 to 1999. There were more patients in winter and spring. M. ferrugineum infections were mostly composed of scalp (85%), face (7%). M. ferrugineum was the highest inc피ldren under the age of 20 years. M. ferrugineum was not is이ated after 1990.

The increased incidence of candial infections have been associated with the increase in the number of patients at risk. Yeast islolates from the tongues of elderly diabetic patients were compared to those of non diabetics. Yeasts were isolated from the tongues of 90 diabetics and 32 non diabetics using the tongue swab and smear technique. The yeasts were identified by germ tube and API 20C systems. The frequency of yeast isolates was much higher in diabetics compared to that of non diabetics. 78.9% of diabetic patients compared to 31.3% in non diabetics. Of the 71 yeast isolates from the diabetic patients identified by the API 20C system, 58 were Candida albicans., 6 were Candida tropicalis, 2 were Rhodotorula rubra, 2 were Trichosporon beigelii, 1 was Candida parapsilosis, 1 was Candida kefyr, and 1 was Candida guilliermondii. Of the 10 yeast isolates from non diabetic patients identified by the API 20C system, 8 were Candida albicans, 1 was Candida parapsilosis, and 1 was Rhodotorula rubra.
