The mismatch among ship blocks often occur in assembly process of blocks as deformations of ship blocks are induced during the production process of the block This problem brings on additional working expenses for modification as well as reducing the accuracy of ship hull. As the faulty block leads to decrease the productivity, there is a accuracy management department in most of ship yards. Positioning of the erection block to minimize defects depends on experience and intuition of a accuracy manager. Therefore, this paper represented a positioning method of block for accuracy management and perform several steps for optimum block position to minimize errors. Also, this paper used the genetic algorithm as the optimization techniques. That the block positioning is expressed as a mathematical problem leads to increase the productivity and assists to a person unexperienced.
