Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of cardiopulmonary resuscitation experienced by nurses. Methods: The phenomenological method developed by Giorgi was used for this study. The participants were 8 nurses who had experienced cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The data were collected between July, 2010 and September, 2010 by face-to-face interviews. The interview was recorded and then transcribed. Results: The constituents associated with the meaning of the Nurses' experiences on cardiopulmonary resuscitation were as followings: "nurses still felt embarrassed in the situation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation," "nurses found life worth and sense of satisfaction after cardiopulmonary resuscitation," "bad results of cardiopulmonary resuscitation caused nurses' emotional distress," "nurses felt sorry for patient who had no chance of being resuscitated," "nurses helped patient who had been determined to do-not-resuscitate with all their hearts." Conclusion: The results of this study may contribute to a deeper understanding of the meaning of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation experienced by nurses. Our results highlight the need to perform more studies on comfortable experiences of patients who were recipients of do-not-resuscitate and to develop support systems for nurses working at general wards.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to confirm the effects of auricular acupressure on constipation among nursing college students. Methods: A Quasi-experimental Data of Nonequivalence Control Group design was used. Participants were 38 nursing students(experimental group(n=19, control group(n=19)). Results: Subjects in the treatment group reported significant effect, which mitigating the symptoms of constipation, in change in amount of gas passed rectally, rectal fullness of pressure, rectal pain with bowel movements and smaller volume of stool. However, there are no significant effect between two groups on abdominal distention or bloating, less frequent bowel movements, oozing liquid stool and urge but inability to pass stool. Conclusion: This findings show that auricular acupressure has an effect on reducing amount of gas passed rectally, rectal fullness of pressure, rectal pain with bowel movements and smaller volume of stool. Therefore, auricular acupressure is considered as a nursing intervention for mitigating the symptoms of constipation.
간호대학생의 DISC행동유형에 따른 임상실습스트레스 차이

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the general characteristics and DISC behaviors of nursing college students and to identify the difference of clinical practice stress by each characteristic. Methods : The subjects of this study were 203 third year students in the 4 year college of nursing in Gyeonggi who agreed to participate after the explanation of the purpose and contents. Data was collected from July 2016 to September 2016, using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a SPSS program for descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and posteriori tests. Results : DISC behaviors of the nursing college students were the most common type (47.3%), followed by stable type (S) with 35.5%, careful type (C) with 9.9% and dominant type (D) with 7.4% . Clinical practice stress of the subjects was 3.02 out of 5. DISC behaviors were statistically significant (p = 0.017), and DISC type (C) was dominant (D), sociomorphic (I), and stable (S) The results of this study are as follows. Conclusion : The results of this study showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the degree of clinical practice stress according to the type of DISC behavior. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the DISC behavioral type in the planning of clinical practice education, It can be provided as an indicator.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore emotional labor experienced by nurses in ambulatory care setting. Method: The phenomenological method developed by Giorgi was used for this study. The participants were 9 nurses who had experienced emotional labor. Data were collected between May and August 2010 by face‐to‐face interviews. The interview was recorded and then transcribed. Results: The constituents associated with the meaning of the nurses' experiences of emotional labor in ambulatory care setting were as followings: bearing down of suffering emotions coming up from the bottom, feeling loneliness when having to undertake care alone by oneself, having conflict between nursing professional and services, managing mind by means of both internal and external resources, getting ridding oneself of conflict with forced emotions over time. Conclusions: The results of this study should contribute to a deeper understanding of the meaning of emotional labor experienced by nurses in ambulatory care. The results also highlight the need to develop programs for nurses in ambulatory care setting to help them express their real action.

The purpose of this study was to compare the degree of indirect post traumatic stress, incident shock, depression and anxiety of high school students in Seoul and Ansan, after sewol ferry disaster. Sample groups consisted of high school students in Seoul and Ansan. The data was collected from July 14, 2014 to August 13, 2014 through the use of mail and firsthand collection 394 copies were collected and available for this study. The data was analyzed using t-test. The result of this study was as follow: A significant difference to the degree of depression only, and not to post traumatic stress, incident shock and anxiety. However, the average score of the four categories were normal in both groups. Therefore, in addition to the results of the present study, more follow-up assessment and group counseling will be needed.
