During the development of the vehicle, many chronic quality problems occurred in low temperature conditions of the glove-box component. Under low temperature conditions, the operation force of the knob became heavier and the return of the rod mechanism was poor due to the sticking phenomenon. Based on the analysis of problem phenomena, the low temperature characteristics of the operating elements were defined and the optimization elements were derived through the test of the principle in the low temperature conditions. Finally, the glove-box development standard were established to decrease quality problems for vehicle user.

PAB Door is a structure to guide for airbag deployment. Door optimization design is essential for airbag deployment stability. This study for Door optimization proceeded in the following process, analysis of development car, catia modeling verification, effect factors test, drawing optimal factors and establishment of development guide. PAB Chute is the equipment to hold the airbag. Securing strength of Chute cohesion is essential for airbag deployment stability. This study for securing cohesion strength proceeded in the following process, establishment of evaluation method, cohesion standards and drawing optimal factors, establishment of development guide. The cockpit Glove Box is a functional component that stores personal items and operated by the user. The operation of the Glove Box involves the user opening to store the item and an open operation occurs at a constant speed. The air damper, the component that makes up the Glove Box is a damping device that controls the opening time. From the users perspective, the opening time should not be too fast or too slow. In addition, certain characteristics should be maintained in different environments (high/low temperatures).

The vehicle development processes have been transformed from product-centered to user-centered processes. This study introduces the perceived quality models of car interior function parts, which are developed for improvement of the customer usability, tested in the perspective of a practical user through benchmarking and SWOT analysis. The result will be suggested to the car interior cockpit designer. Then it will be applied to the guidelines of the vehicle development phases to enhance the subjective customer satisfaction for the usability of the car interior function parts.

In order to increase the design freedom of the Audio button, and to improve the characteristics of the failure in the poor environmental areas, silicone-based buttons were first applied to the audio, and this task was performed in terms of optimizing the operating sensibility. Important factors were extracted through the consumer emotion survey, quantitative factors were derived for the assessment. Finally, I established optimal FS-curve of operation and design guideline of the silicon buttons.

The application of indoor mood lamps has been expanding in line with the recent trend of luxury vehicles, and the development of mood lamps from a customer’s point of view has become important. When driving a vehicle, the mood lamps should not be too bright or distract the driver’s attention. This study was conducted in a way that the evaluation elements were discovered from the perspective of brightness and uniformity of the mood lamps to maximize safety and indoor atmosphere during driving.
