후발 소매점포의 진입 시기 선택은 소매업의 국제화 과정에서 중요한 역할을 한다는 것 은 잘 알려진 사실이지만, 후발 소매점포의 추월 전략에 관한 연구는 아직 미흡하다. 본 연구는 후발 소매점포가 다음과 같은 추월 전략을 선택한다는 것을 밝혔다. 첫째, 후 발 소매점포는 관망연수, 마찰연수, 그리고 학습연수를 고려하여 진입 시기를 선택한다. 둘 째, 후발 소매점포는 점포입지 조정, 공공 입찰 방법, 확장 방향, 인허가 속도, 적정한 투자 비용 및 점포 크기 등의 진입격차 완화전략을 선택한다. 셋째, 후발 소매점포는 단기적으 로 생존 전략에 초점을 두고 장기적으로 시장점유 전략을 선택한다. 넷째, 후발 소매점포 는 시기적 선택, 장소적 선택 및 경영적 선택을 통하여 점포망을 구축한다. It is well known that the selection timing of late-entrant retail stores plays an important role in the process of internationalization of retail industry. However, researches on the catch-up strategies of the late-entrant retail store are still insufficient. This study implies that the late-entrant retail store chooses the following catch-up strategies. First, the late-entrant retail store selects the entry time in consideration of years of wait & see, of the choke point, and of learning. Second, the late-entrant retail store selects the moderating strategies of entry gaps such as adjustment of store location, use of bidding method, expansion direction, speed of permit period, and moderate investment costs and scale of store size. Third, the late-entrant retail store focuses on survival strategy in the short term and market share strategy in the long term. Fourth, the late-entrant retail store establishes a store network through time selection, location selection, and management selection.
