Road profiling is a means to measure the surface contour of road. The measured road profiles can provide the research organizations with valuable data to perform vehicle testing and computer simulations. Many road profile measuring systems have been developed up to the present. As the Dynamic Road Profiling Devices(DRPD), An Accelerometer Established Inertial Profiling Reference (AEIPR) method is to measure the elevation of the road surface to a certain degree of accuracy along the direction of travel at a normal highway speed. This paper describes to construct DRPD and the signal processing for advanced double integration and road profiling for AEIPR method. The measured road profiles using the methods are in good agreements with real road elevation.

In this research a systematic method to evaluate the durability loads on Korean roads is constructed and a study is<br/> carried out to determine accelerated durability loads, to improve the durability of chassis components. For this the<br/> conditions of Korean target load for vehicles are decided, roads in Korea are classified into 5 types and 6-axis forces<br/> on wheel and loads on chassis components in various vehicles are measured on the roads. Then Korean target load is<br/> developed through the normalization and combination of loads in each vehicle and by using pseudo-damage and<br/> rainflow matrix. An accelerated durability load equivalent to the Korean target load is further derived from a<br/> correlation between Korean roads and special roads in a proving ground in Korea and compared with international<br/> target loads. It is expected that this research result can provide basic and essential resources to virtual engineering that<br/> are being studied actively.

This paper is focused on simulation and verification of the EMB(Electro Mechanical Brake) system newly developed by the Mando Corporation. In this paper, the virtual model was made in the dynamic analysis software, ADAMS and its verification was achieved by the correlation between the result of an experiment and the simulation result. The correlation in the static state was achieved by the comparison between the result of the experiment using the Load Cell and the simulation result. In the dynamic state the correlation was achieved by the comparison between the braking torque of the dynamometer test and the simulation result. As the result of this process, the virtual model used in this simulation is verified that it is reasonable to be applied to other EMB systems.

The suspension system plays a major in the vertical ride performance of vehicle. In this research, Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation system to evaluate suspension system was categorized into direct and indirect types. While the proposed direct HILS system was to evaluate damper only by reproducing vertical damper motion from the viewpoint of damper using an actuator, the second indirect proposed HILS system was to evaluate suspension from the viewpoint of vehicle. Unlike the first, the second system included tire, spring, damper and suspension linkage, which reproduced the road profile and the sprung mass motions at a same time. The indirect HILS system was built up in the research, and the simulation results were evaluated with comparison with the real vehicle ride test on Korea Automotive Technology Institute Proving Ground. The HILS system for suspension was expected to apply to evaluate various suspension systems with such as MR CDC damper and CDC damper as well as conventional damper.

It's significant to considerate human factors for the design of the advanced safety vehicle beyond the general vehicle's performance. Therefore, the development of human driver model to imitate the real human drive pattern is useful for the commencement of advanced vehicle research to reflect the human factors. In this paper, several experiments to verify the human factors of driving a vehicle and the control logic to describe the human's drive logic process are presented. Human factors to influence a vehicle operation are assumed to be consisted of two major components, the preview distance recognition and the human neuromuscular system. The finite preview optimal control strategy has been applied due to the similarity of human's situation awareness in a driving condition. Ultimately, combining the control logic with human factors, the representative human driver model has been developed and simulated with ADAMS/CAR in SIMULINK environment. The simulation results have been compared to the actual vehicle test data (DLC road course test result) in terms of driving experience classified by Novice, Intermediate, and Expert. It has been concluded that the representative human driver model presented in this paper is sufficient to describe the human drive pattern sorted by driving experience.

본 연구에서는 비접촉식 보조제동장치 개발을 위한 대상 시스템 및 차량 동역학 해석 모델을 개발하고, 시뮬레이션을 통해 제동 성능을 분석하였다. 동역학 해석 모델은 다물체동역학 해석 S/W인 ADAMS를 이용하여 개발하였으며, Simulink로 개발된 수학적 모델을 연동하여 ADAMS/Simulink co-simulation을 수행하였다. 제동시뮬레이션은 직진 주행시 제동과 오르막 및 내리막 주행시 제동 조건에서 수행하였으며, 내리막 및 오르막길은 경사각 10, 20, 30%의 조건을 적용하였다.

Many researches on driver's behaviors based on human factors have been being carried out for effective evaluation on the vehicles with various intelligent control systems. The ergonomic approaches are considered on the evaluation process as well as the development process of the intelligent control systems. This paper focuses on the preview distance among human factors affecting driver behaviors, which exerts on vehicle's steering stability. The researches on the preview distance exclude the real vehicle test or are confined to obscure assumptions so far. In this paper drivers are classified through statistically ergonomic analysis on the drivers' characteristics such as gender, age, driving experience, and so on. There are two test methods applied for the analysis of the characteristics of the drivers' preview distance - real driving test for the subjective evaluation and simulator test equipped with eye tracking system for the objective evaluation. On the basis of the results from two test methods, it is concluded that the main parameters affecting the preview distance, which varies along with drivers' characteristics, are the road curvature and the vehicle speed among external stimuli.
