        어머니 상위정서철학이 어머니-자녀 상호작용에서 나타난 정서반응에 미치는 영향

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between maternal meta-emotion philosophy and mother-child reactions during their interactions. Methods: The study sample consisted of 44 mothers and their 5-year-old children. Data were collected by a semi-structured meta-emotion philosophy interview about emotions and by observing a mother - child interaction teaching task for 15 minutes. All interviews and interaction task data were quantitatively processed. Results: Our analysis showed that maternal emotional regulation reduces maternal negative affects. We also found that maternal emotional coaching of the child is a factor that decreases the child`s negative emotional reactions. Moreover mothers who can regulate better their own emotions have an influence on the pattern of `maternal neutral emotion - child positive emotion`, while mothers who accept the child`s emotions well have influence on the `maternal positive emotion - child positive emotion` pattern. Finally, maternal emotional acceptance, emotional regulation and emotional awareness of the child`s emotion led to a reduction of the `maternal negative emotion - child negative emotion` patterns. Conclusion: These results suggest that maternal meta-emotion philosophy is a foundation for the actual mother-child interaction and is an important factor in mother-child reciprocal affect patterns.

        과제 상호작용에서 나타난 어머니 정서반응과 자녀 정서반응 간의 관계에서 어머니 칭찬 유형의 매개효과

        Objective: This study was focused on analyzing how different types of maternal praise influence the mutual emotional reactions between mothers and their children. Methods: Fifty-eight pairs of mothers and their 5-year-old children participated in the study. Their interactions were observed and analyzed on a second-by-second basis using a computer. During the observations, whenever the mothers expressed praise, they were categorized by praise type. The relationships between each praise type and mother child interactions were then verified. Results: All praise types showed high correlations with maternal affection. Mothers who frequently used praise also used more humor and their children more often expressed affection toward their mothers. Maternal affection was significantly related to child affection and maternal negative emotion showed a high positive correlation with child negative emotion. Finally, maternal process praise fully mediated the relationship between maternal affection and child affection. Conclusion: Our results indicate that, by scrutinizing mother child interactions on a second-by-second basis, one can analyze how a mothers reactions to her child relates to maternal praise types and how this influences her childs emotional reactions.

        어머니 상위정서양육방식과 청소년 자녀의 심리적 적응 및 우울감의 관계

        The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effects of mother-adolescent communication time on the relationship between maternal meta-emotion philosophy, adolescent psychological adjustment and depression. The participants for this study comprised 181 first and second grade high school students and their mothers, residing in Seoul. The results of the analyses indicated that, (a) maternal disapproving is negatively correlated to adolescents` positive world views, and that maternal laissez-faire is also negatively correlated to adolescents` emotional responsiveness. However, a positive correlation is revealed between maternal emotion-coaching and adolescents` positive self-esteem. (b) It is evident that adolescents` emotional responsiveness is influenced by maternal laissez-faire, and that adolescents` positive self-esteem is influenced by emotion-coaching. It also indicated that mother-adolescent communication time is influenced by dismissing as well as laissez-faire meta-emotion philosophy. (c) It revealed that mother-adolescent communication time, in part, has a meaningful moderating effect on the relationship between meta-emotion philosophy and adolescent depression. Therefore, the present study indicates that even if maternal disapproving, laissez-faire, or dismissing is practiced, adolescent depression levels decrease as mother-adolescent time lengthens.

        아동의 죽음불안 감소를 위한 죽음대비교육의 효과

        This study examined children`s death anxiety by religion, previous death experience and the effectiveness of a death education program. Half of the subjects 60 nine-year-old elementary school subjects were assigned to the experimental group and half were assigned to the control group. The 6-week death education program for the experimental group included literature, role play, and discussion. A questionnaire and death anxiety scale for children were administered to all subjects. After the educational program, there was a significant difference in death anxiety scores , between the experimental and control groups. However, children`s religion and previous experience with death had no significant relationship to their death anxiety or effectiveness of the death education program.

        스트레스 상황에서 어머니의 정서조절 수준에 따른 어머니-자녀 간 상호작용 분석

        Objective: This study analyzed mother-child interactions in a stressful situation each second by mother’s emotional regulation level. Methods: The study was conducted with 16 mothers and their 5-year-old children playing a teaching task for 15 min. During the interactions, the participants were videotaped and examined. Furthermore, qualitative analysis was used for analyzing mother-child interactions in detail by creating a situation that maximizes the stress and frustration of the mother and child. Results: The results showed that maternal humor and affection were significantly related to child positive emotion and that maternal coaching closely correlated with the child pride, pleasure, and whining. Additionally, maternal intrusive behavior showed a positive correlation with child anger. Lastly, mothers with higher levels of emotional regulation more often expressed affection to their children. They were more actively involved in the tasks and used fewer positive or negative directive expressions. Therefore, children of this group expressed more positive emotions. Conclusion: These findings suggests that programs improving parental emotional reaction and emotion regulation should be developed.

        어머니의 상호작용행동, 유아의 인지적·정서적 실행기능 및 양심의 관계

        Objectives: Preschoolers’ conscience refers to a concept revolving around moral emotion, cognition and behavior. This study investigates the relationships among preschoolers’ conscience, hot and cool executive function, and maternal interactive behaviors. Furthermore, it examines the mediating role of preschoolers’ executive function in the relationship between maternal interactive behaviors and preschoolers’ conscience. Methods: Participants comprised 220 mothers and teachers engaging with preschoolers. Data were collected during the COVID-19 period. Therefore, a research process, which suited the changing operations of day-care centers and kindergartens due to social distancing, was adopted. The mothers answered questionnaires on preschoolers’ conscience and maternal interactive behaviors, and the teachers on hot and cool executive function. Obtained data were analyzed using correlations, multiple regression, hierarchical regression, and bootstrapping. Results: Results revealed that the preschoolers’ conscience was significantly related to maternal interactive behaviors and preschoolers’ hot and cool executive function. The preschoolers’ executive function mediated the effect of maternal interactive behaviors on their conscience. Specifically, the plannning and organizing of the executive function fully mediated the relationship between maternal efficient interactive behaviors and preschoolers’ internalized conduct. The bootstrapping result suggested that the indirect effect is statistically significant. Conclusion: This study explored an area of morality that is less researched and incorporated the importance of executive function into it. Additionally, the results confirmed the mediating effect of preschoolers’ executive function on their conscience. The results obtained are expected to help organize activities for developing morality.

        어머니의 상위정서철학과 분노표현 간의 관계에서 아동또래애착의 매개효과

        본 연구는 어머니의 상위정서철학이 아동의 분노표현에 영향을 미치는 경로에서 아동 또래애착의 매개적 역할을 살펴보았다. 또한 이를 통해 아동으로 하여금 적절한 방식으로 분노를 표현하도록 하는 보호요인에 대해 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 경기, 서울에 거주하고 있는 초등학교 5, 6학년 아동과 그들의 어머니 57쌍을 대상으로 연구하였다. 연구 결과 어머니의 상위정서철학과 아동의 또래 애착 하위요인 간에 부분적으로 정적인 연관성이 나타났으며, 어머니의 상위정서철학과 아동의 분노표현하위 요인 간에도 부분적 정적 상관이 있었다. 아동의 또래애착과 분노표현 간의 관계를 살펴보면 또래에 대한 아동의 신뢰 수준이 높을수록 아동의 분노억압 수준이 낮고, 분노조절 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 뿐만 아니라 자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 수용이 아동의 분노억압수준에 미치는 영향을 또래에 대한 아동의 신뢰 수준이 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 어머니의 정서관련 가치관 및 양육태도가 아동의 사회적 관계 양상 및 부정적 정서 처리방식에 영향을 미치는 경로를 확인할 수 있었다. This study investigated the mediating role of children’s peer attachment on the relationship between maternal meta-emotion philosophy and children’s anger expression style. And through this, we explored factors that cased children to express their anger in an appropriate way. 57 early adolescent children of 5th to 6th grader in elementary school and their mothers were recruited. As a result of the study, there was a partial positive correlation between the maternal meta-emotion philosophy and children's peer attachment. There was also a partial positive correlation between the maternal meta-emotion philosophy and children's anger expression style. Looking at the relationship between children's peer attachment and anger expression style, the higher the children's confidence in their peers, the lower their anger suppression level and the higher their anger control level. And the result indicated that the mediating effect of children's peer trust in the influence of maternal acception of their children's emotion on children's anger was significant. Through this study we identified the influence of maternal emotion socialization behavior and children’s peer attachment to children’s anger expression style.

        자녀의 부정적 정서에 대한 부모의 반응과 아동의 스트레스 대처행동 간의 관계에서 자기조절능력의 매개효과

        This study explored the relationship between parental reaction to children`s negative emotions, child`s self-regulation and stress-coping behaviors. This study also examined the mediating effect of a child`s self-regulation between parental reactions to children`s negative emotions and a child`s stress-coping behaviors. The sample included 407 elementary school 5th-6th grades and their parents (comprising 407 couples) in Seoul. The research results are summarized as follows. First, parental reactions to children`s negative emotions were significantly related to the child`s self-regulation and stress-coping behaviors. Secondly, it was also found that parental reactions to children`s negative emotion were both partially and indirectly related to a child`s stress-coping behaviors through the child`s use of self-regulation.
