Ultra light metal structures are studied for several years because they have superior stiffness and strength and multi functions even though they are much lighter than other conventional structures. Many studies have been focused on how to manufacture ultra light metal structures and optimize them. In this study, we introduce a new idea to make sandwich panels having octet truss cores. Two kinds of panels which have the same core of octet truss, but different face sheets, that is, meshed and blind face sheets are prepared for evaluation. Through theoretical analysis and experiments, we verify mechanical properties of octet truss sandwich panels. For this, compression test and 3 point bending experiment were performed.
