교회교육의 대안 모색: 어린이부를 중심으로

The purpose of this article is to consider effective children's ministry in terms of comprehensive educational eccology. To cope with traditional children's ministry, I have developed a new direction of children's ministry that is located in the comprehensive educational eccology. Finally, I have suggested possible changes and alternatives for future. Throughout this thesis, I have emphasized three educational eccology that is 'congregation', 'children's family', and 'small group', and explored how to enhance these eccology. First, I have explained various problems that traditional children's ministry has, and then suggested networking power that is 'congregation'. Children's ministry is a reality integrated into entire church. therefore this article have handled church school in the context of whole church and congregation's life, and suggested practical guide. Second, I have mentioned the crisis of church school which is separated from children's parents. and I have insisted partnership with children's family, and then introduced the attitude on family-friendly children's ministry. In addition to, I have proposed feasible methods that can perform family-friendly children's ministry. Third, I have proposed small group that is not schooling system but family type, and suggested several implications regarding to children's small group. Heretofore, I have intended to construct children's ministry which will enable children to belong to faith community. And I have explained family-friendly children's ministry, and then proposed practical know-how in detail. Through this study and further discussions, I wish that church school still remains as the God's agency for the next generation. 본 논문의 목적은 어린이부서를 둘러싸고 있는 포괄적인 교육생태학의 관점에서 효과적인 어린이사역을 고찰하는 것이다. 어린이사역의 위기를 극복하기 위한 방안으로서, 어린이부서 그 자체에 대한 문제 해결이 아니라 어린이부서를 둘러싼 포괄적인 교육생태(교육환경과 체제)를 비판적으로 성찰한다. 그런 다음, 교육 생태환경의 복원을 위한 구체적이고 가능한 대안과 방법을 소개한다. 구체적으로, 2장 본론에서 ‘교회의 회중’, ‘어린이의 가정’, ‘가족형 어린이 소그룹’ 이라는 세 가지 교육 생태환경을 논하며 이를 강화할 방안을 탐구한다. 첫째, ‘교회의 회중’이라는 인적 네트워크 파워를 강화하는 일이다. 어린이사역은 전체교회 사역과 분리된 한 부분이 아니라 통합되어 있는 실재이다. 본 논문은 교회학교를 ‘교회의 사역과 회중의 삶’ 이라는 보다 광범위한 맥락 내에서 다루며, 이를 위한 구체적인 방안들을 소개한다. 둘째, 어린이의 부모와 분리된 교회학교의 위기를 언급하면서 ‘어린이의 가정’과 파트너쉽을 이룰 수 있는 어린이사역을 제시한다. 구체적으로, 가족친화적인 사역을 위한 자세와 부모와 함께하는 어린이사역을 효과적으로 성취하기 위한 실제적인 방안들을 소개한다. 마지막으로, 학교구조가 아닌 가족형 ‘소그룹’ 인프라를 강화하는 일이다. 본 논문은 교회학교의 학교형 구조와 그 문제점을 다루면서, 이를 극복하기 위한 방안으로서 교회학교를 지배해오던 학교식 전통과 구조를 과감하게 탈피하여 가족형 사역으로 전환할 것을 주장한다. 그리고 가족형 어린이 소그룹의 운영방안과 실제를 현장사례를 통해 제시한다. 본 연구와 후속연구및 피이드백을 통해, 필자는 교회학교가 다음세대를 향한 하나님의 기관으로 주목할 만한 희망의 징표로 존재하기를 원한다.

하나님은 우리가 청소년사역의 씨를 뿌리는 것을 축복하실 것이다. 그리고 수많은 열매를 거두워 들이는 추수의 때가 있을 것이다. 우리가 그 추수함을 보지 못한다 할지라도 낙심하여서는 안될 것이다. 왜냐하면 우리가 자신의 땀과 노동의 결실을 보지 못한다 할지라도 그 열매는 반드시 맺혀져서 교회와 하나님 나라의 일에 드러나기 때문이다. 우리는 하룻밤 사이에 청소년들을 영적인 거목으로 자라게 할 수 없다. 그러나 우리는 하나님으로부터 청소년들을 위해 끊임없이 기도하고 헌신할 수 있는 비전과 능력을 받았다. 우리가 섬기고 헌신하여 열매를 맺게 될 이들이 자신과 하나님을 사랑하고, 결국 세상을 변화시키는 자들이 될 것이다.

청소년 사역에 묻혀진 보화

본 논문을 통해서 청소년 신앙형성을 위한 진정한 힘은 청소년 프로그램에 있는 것이 아니라 ‘가정’에 있으며, 확대가족이라 할수 있는 ‘교회공동체’에 있다는 것을 거듭 확인하였다. 우리는 청소년 교회교육의 구조를 새롭게 보아야 한다. 청소년들을 건강하게 양육하는 환경으로 이끌 수 있는 ‘가정’과 ‘교회회중’의 가능성에 눈을 떠야 한다. 이제 우리는 교회 청소년 교육의 문제를 청소년부서의 차원에서 찾고 그 해결책을 방법론이나 프로그램의 개선차원에서 모색하는 것이 아니라, 교회의 교육구조에 대한 근본적인 성찰을 해야 할 시점에 왔다고 생각한다. 이를 위해 우리는 ‘신앙공동체로서의 교회’라는 재발견과 ‘파트너로서의 부모’라는 근본적인 성찰을 청소년 사역의 본질적인 요소로 받아들여야 할 것이다. 교회 청소년들의 교사는 분반을 맡은 소수의 교사로 제한될 필요가 없다. 성인 회중들은 분반시간에 청소년들에게 성경을 직접 가르치지 않아도 자신의 은사, 관심, 전문지식, 그리고 적성분야에서 교사의 역할을 감당할 수 있다. 십대들의 다양한 은사를 개발시키는 일은 매우 다양한 성인들을 필요로 하는 일이다. 예를 들면, 청소년 성가대나 찬양 팀, 율동 팀, 드라마 팀, 혹은 악기연주를 배우고자 하는 청소년들을 지도하면서 그들을 지원할 수 있다. 운동과 게임을 좋아하는 성인들은 그 분야로 함께 할 수 있다. 특별행사 때나 주방 돕기나 요리 등으로 섬길 수 있으며, 차량을 후원하면서 청소년들의 성인친구가 되어줄 수도 있다. 특별히 소그룹 활동은 십대들의 욕구와 흥미를 반영하며, 나아가서 그들에게 잠재력으로 감추어져 있던 은사를 개발하도록 한다. 그러므로 소그룹을 지도할 수 있는 성인들을 발굴하여 십대들의 성경공부 소그룹, 찬양 및 음악관련 소그릅, 봉사활동 소그룹, 기타 문화 및 스포츠관련 소그룹 등을 섬기도록 하는 일은 성인 회중과 청소년들을 연결할 수 있는 매우효과적인 사역이다. In this study, it was confirmed that the real power for forming religious faith of youth is not in a youth program itself but in Family and Church Community that can be called an extended family. We should try to see a system of youth church education in different ways. We should also open out eyes to the possibility of Family and Church Congregation that can be a health environment for youth. Now, it is high time that we should reflect on an education system of church rather than find solutions at the level of church youth education problems and at the level of methodology and the improvement of programs. To do this, we should adopt the considerations of Church as a religious community and Parents as partners as an essential factor of youth work. Teachers for youth in church do not have to be restricted within a small number of teachers who take charge of divided classes. Adult congregation can play a teacher s role with their grace of God, expert knowledge, and field that they have aptitude although they do not directly teach Bible to youth. To develop various grace of God of youth is a task that requires various adults. For instance, they can support youth by teaching a choir, a praise team, a dance team, a drama team, or youth who wants to learn how to play musical instruments. Adults who like sports or games also can teach youth what they are interested in. They also can help cooks and make food for special events, or become friends with youth. Small group activities reflect desires and interests young people have, and it can also lead them to find their potential, hidden divine favors. Thus, to find adults who are able to teach small groups and let them teach young people Bible, choir, public service, and sports is an effective work to connect adults congregation and youth.

가족 친화적 교회교육을 위한 기초와 모델

가족 친화적 사역은 프로그램이 아니라 과정이다. 가족 친화적인 사역이 어떤 특정한 프로그램으로 축소되어서는 안 된다. 중요한 것은 가족 친화적인 태도이며, 이런 태도 가운데 일어나는 과정이다. 안타깝게도 적지 않은 사역자들이 기존의 프로그램을 가정과 관련된 내용으로 변화시키거나 가정을 위한 전혀 새로운 프로그램을 시도하는 것을 가족 친화적 사역으로 잘못 생각하고 있다. 사실, 수많은 교회학교의 사역들은 사역의 초점을 프로그램에 두고 있다. 그들은 교회학교 사역의 비결과 비밀은 새롭고 창조적인 프로그램에 있다고 생각한다. 그들은 ‘가장 좋은’ 프로그램, 남들이 아직 해본 적이 없는 ‘최신의’ 프로그램을 찾아서 할 수 있다면 교회학교의 사역은 성공할 것으로 믿는다. 그러나 훌륭한 가족 친화적인 프로그램이 중요하지만 그것이 교회학교 사역의 본질은 아니다. 우리는 오늘의 교회학교의 위기는 프로그램과는 거의 관계가 없으며 가정을 고려하지도 않으며 관계하지도 않는 사역에 있음을 인식해야 한다. 그러므로 우리에게 지금 중요한 것은 가정과 함께 하는 거창한 프로그램을 만들고 실행하는 일이 아니다. 참으로 중요한 것은 의미 있는 가족 친화적인 사역이 장기적인 과정에서 교회학교의 현장에 스며들도록 하는 일이며, 모든 교사들이 가족 친화적 사역을 이해하고 작으나마 분반사역에서 이를 실천하는 일이다. Church school service is a typical service for students, and at the same time it is an integrated service that takes parents into account. One must understand that traditional church education service itself has limited potential that can change the life of children and adolescents, and one must receive family-friendly ministry as an essential element of the church education services. Recognition of the true power that can create the faith of the children and adolescents lies not on the site program of the church education but rather on the family itself, and again it is a starting point for any church to make a progress into a healthy church schooling. The family-friendly ministry is a process, not a program. The family-friendly ministry must not deform into any typical program. Two most important issues are a family-friendly attitude here and the process that originated from this attitude. It is a tantalizing fact because quite a few church ministers have misunderstanding that altering existing programs into the programs related to family or trying entirely new program for a family is a family friendly service. In fact many services of church school zoom in a program as if it is their focal point. Those ministers believe the secret and key to a successful church school service lie on avant-garde and creative programs; they believe that finding the best program, the latest one that none has ever tried, will bring a successful service for church school. Indeed good family-friendly program is important, but that s not the true-nature of the church school service. The crisis of church school service today lies on the service that neither related to programs nor consider the family involved. Therefore what needed the most nowadays is not to make and implement a big and good looking program. The key elements are to let the site of church education absorb a meaningful family-friendly service in long term and to have teachers understand the nature of the family-friendly service and practice this new approach in their everyday life.
