In present research, an experimental investigation is performed to study cooling characteristics of steam<br/> impinging jet on a heated flat plate as elementary research concerning turbine blade internal cooling technique<br/> of industrial gas turbine. Experiments are conducted on steam mass flow rate from 5.0 to 12.0 kg/h, heat flux<br/> from 20 to 50 kW/m2, and steam temperature at nozzle exit from 105 to 125 °C. It is observed that the<br/> changes of experimental conditions strongly influence the temperature distribution near the stagnation point.<br/> It is considered that the heat transfer between steam impinging jet and surroundings causes the condensation<br/> and the radial temperature gradient in steam jet. The effect of nozzle exit temperature is remarkable near the<br/> stagnation region.
