The cut lily is one of the most important exporting flowers in Korea, which value is 19.9 million dollars in 2013. However, Korean farmers and exporting firms recently have experiences a large decrease in lily export, and need to find the way to the increasing exportation. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the situation of production and consumption of the cut lily in the world and to present the implication for the acceleration of exportation of Korean cut lily. The results of studies present a few findings: First, Korean farmers and business firms need to study and benchmark the production and exportation system of Netherlands which is the best country in the world. Second, Colombia, Kenya, Ecuador and Ethiopia are also need to be studied for the upgrading Korean system of exportation of cut lily. Third, Korean farmers and business firms should continuously monitor the three main markets of cut lily (EU, U.S., and Japan), and develop strategies for the exportation of Korean cut lily. Forth, especially, Korean farmers and business firms should define the preference of cut lily in the main exporting markets (Japan, China, Russia), including breed and color of flower, and the main period of consumption, in order to develop the marketing strategy for Korean cut lily.

Garlic is one of the most important seasoning vegetables in Korea. Basically, Korea has two trading systems for garlic at the wholesale market, and academic discussions about this trading system couldn’t get the conclusion. The purpose of this paper is to review the marketing structure of garlic and to analyze the trading systems for garlic at the wholesale market through survey analysis. The results of studies present a few findings: First, marketers for garlic show different preferences about the trading systems of garlic at the wholesale market. Especially, the size of volume of trading garlic affects the preference of the trading system. Second, the trading systems have various problems, which are claimed by marketers. These problems need to be improved for the more efficient trading at the wholesale market. Third, the current trading systems for garlic at the wholesale market need to be continued, and they should freely selected by marketers.
국제 곡물 가격 변동이 국내 주요 가공식품 가격 변화에 미치는 영향 분석

The international grain price shows dramatic change, which results in the price change of Korean processed food. Recently, Korean government and consumers started discussing about the effects of change of international grain price on the processed food. However, few studies have analyzed this effects. The goal of this paper is to analyze the effects of price change of international grain, especially wheat, soybean, and sugarcane, on the processed food price in Korea. As the results of analysis, three findings are presented: First, the size and timelag of the effects of change of international grain price on the processed food price is different due to products, Second, there is the possibility that processed food price in Korea will increase, Third, Korean government has some methods to manage the price change of processed food, even though government cannot totally control the price.

In Korea, food material industry encounters the emerging market which results from the growth of food service industry and food processing industry. Food material suppliers think that the total sales in Korean market may be around 20 trillion won. However, very small numbers of studies about Korean food material industry have been conducted. This paper analyzes the current status of food material industry and the market structure in Korea, and presents several suggestions for the development of Korean food material industry as following: building up the function of fresh-cut in production area, improving market structure, settling down the cold-chain system, enforcing the certification program for food safety.

In Korea, bean curd is one of most important foods and bean curd industry keeps growing. Korean bean curd industry has complicated structure with a few large-scale manufacturers and many small-size manufacturers, which causes difficulty in figuring the strategy for the promotion of bean curd industry. In order to solve this problem, more specific studies are required. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the production sector of Korean bean curd and to present the implications for the promotion of Korean bean curd industry. Survey analyses to producers was conducted for this research. The results of studies present a few findings: First, the solution for the easier purchase of raw material (soybean) should be prepared. Second, the support for marketing as well as R&D to small-size manufacturers is required. Third, the monitoring and controlling of unfair trading in bean curd market should be strengthened. Forth, the certification programs for the bean curd products should be managed.

Recently, Korean government has endeavored to promote the exportation of processed food as well as fresh food. Korean chili pepper powder is one of the important processed food for exporting. However, there are few study discussing about consumers` preference in foreign countries, in order to offer information to develop strategy for exporting. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the market status and consumers` preference about Korean chili pepper powder in U.S. and Japan. Field research and survey research were conducted to investigate the market and consumers` behavior. Conjoint analyses also were conducted to present more specific and comprehensive analyses to define the consumers` preference about Korean Chili pepper powder. The results of studies present the enough possibility to export Korean chili pepper powder to U.S. and Japan. The results also show that markets and consumers in U.S. and Japan have the different shapes, and thus Korean exporters need to develop different strategies which are suitable to each country.
친환경 과일의 구입 행위 분석: 포도와 감귤을 대상으로

Even though many Korean consumers have bought environment-friendly fruits, including grapes and mandarins, farmers and suppliers still have little information about how they make a decision for the actual purchase in the real markets. Without the suitable information of purchase behavior of environment-friendly fruits, farmers and suppliers cannot set up the efficient marketing strategy which can create the better agricultural products for Korean consumers. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the consumers’ purchase behavior of environment-friendly fruits in Korea. Especially, this study was focused on the grapes and mandarins, through the survey research and the frequency analysis. The results of study in this paper present a few findings useful as follows: First, Korean consumers have the strong concern of environment-friendly agricultural products, including fruits. Second, consumers usually buy environment-friendly fruits by two times per month. Third, consumers generally concern taste, freshness, and food-safety, when they buy environment-friendly grape or mandarin.

Korean government has endeavored to increase the exportation of agro-food, and the exporting processed food is one of the main concerns. However, there is little research to promote the exportation of Korean processed food, which is discussed in this paper. This paper analyzed the current situation of the exporting processed food and the government policy in Korea, and presents the strategy to increase the exporting. First, government programs should consider the market efficiency. Second, specified marketing strategies need to be developed after the overall analysis about the world market. Third, governmental support for product development and promotion should be expanded. Forth, efforts to increase the efficiency of logistics and food safety need to be magnified.
DEA를 활용한 시장도매인 경영효율성 분석 : 강서도매시장 시장도매인을 중심으로

The agricultural market-wholesaler system was introduced to the Gangseo wholesale market in June 2004 and now 52 agricultural market-wholesalers were operating. As one of the important wholesale market players, agricultural market-wholesaler has been studied by many researchers. Most of the research papers focus on agricultural market-wholesaler, in order to discuss the market-purchasing system by comparing it with the auction system. However, the academic discussion about the management efficiency of agricultural market-wholesaler is rare. The purpose of this research is to analyze the management efficiency of agricultural market-wholesaler and to figure out the way of improving the management efficiency of agricultural market-wholesaler with inefficient management efficiency. DEA was used to analyze the agricultural marketwholesaler s management efficiency. According to the DEA analysis, 8 agricultural marketwholesaler were found to be efficient in management under CRS conditions, 12 agricultural market-wholesalers with efficient management under VRS conditions, and 8 agricultural marketwholesalers with efficient scale efficiency. As a result of analyzing management efficiency by using the Wilcoxon Rank Sum Test by dividing agricultural market-wholesalers into two groups, it was suggested that agricultural market-wholesalers can improve management efficiency by promoting projects that can improve relations with farmers who ship to agricultural marketwholesalers and enhance mutual cooperation.
