비평논문 : 영국의 개인주의적 무정부주의와 사회적 자유 -결혼(marriage)과 성(sex)의 문제-

개인주의적 무정부주의자들은 억압과 지배의 문제를 해결하기 위해 국가를 거부했지만, 설령 국가의 지배에서 벗어난다 해도 자유의 문제가 해결된다고 보지는 않았다. 정치적 자유와 경제적 자유의 문제가 해결된다 해도 사회적 자유의 영역이 남아 있었기 때문이다. 사회적 자유의 영역에서 개인주의적 무정부주의자들은 결혼과 사랑의 문제에 대해 주목했다. 이 부분은 관습에 의해 억압되고 있었을 뿐 아니라 관습을 뒷받침하는 법률에 의해서도 통제되고 있는 영역이었다. 결혼은 제도화되어 있어서 이 제도 밖에 있는 사람들 즉 결혼하지 않고 함께 사는 사람들은 사회적 편견에 시달렸으며, 이들의 아이는 정당한 권리를 보장받지 못했고 사회적으로는 차별받았다. 결혼한 사람들도 억압받기는 마찬가지였다. 결혼한 사람들은 사랑의 유무에 관계없이 평생을 서로에게 묶여 살아야 했고 다른 사람을 사랑할 수도 없었다. 개인주의적 무정부주의자들은 이런 현상에 대해 자유로운 사랑(free love)을 대체하려고 했다. 결혼과 성에 대한 관습의 억압에 대해 인간들의 사랑할 권리를 요구했던 것이다. 이들이 경제 현상에 대해 제시한 반독점의 논리를 연장시켜 본다면 사랑에 대한 독점을 깨뜨리려 한 것이라고도 볼 수 있을 것이다. 한 가지 주목할 부분은 이들의 생각이 철저하게 이성에 근거하고 있다는 점이다. 이들은 이성을 잣대로 하여 국가권력에 대해서만이 아니라 사회의 많은 관습들에 대해 의문을 제기하고 있다. 그래서 이들은 결혼과 성의 논의에 과학을 끌어 들였다. 그런 점에서 이들은 미신과 편견에 도전한 계몽주의의 연장선상에 서 있었으며 그들에게 현실은 여전히 미신으로 가득 차 있었다. Individualist Anarchists rejected the state as a way to solve the problems of suppression and dominance in society. But the subject of freedom would be still lingering in spite of the disappearance of government. The arena of social freedom would be remaining as an object to be pursued although political and economic freedom might be achieved. Individualist Anarchists focused on marriage and sex as an important sections on the agenda of realizing social freedom, as they were controlled and regulated through social conventions and laws which buttressed those conventions. As marriage was established as an institution, couples living together without legal marriage suffered from social prejudice while their children were deprived of legitimate rights and socially discriminated. Married couples also suffered from the contradictions of the marriage system. They were tied to each other permanently regardless of whether love continued or not, and were not to love any other but the husband or wife. Individualist Anarchists wanted to substitute ‘free love’ for the marriage system. They demanded the right to love against the suppression of marital and sexual conventions. Although they didn`t use the term ‘monopoly’ directly, we can see that they were, in effect, seeking to break up the ‘monopoly’ of love when we extend their logic of anti-monopoly in the economic and social analysis. Particular attention in needed on their emphasis on the importance of ‘reason’. Individualist Anarchists raised questions about the legitimacy of social customs as well as that of the state`s power, using reason as the standard for judgment. Thus they wished to raise scientific discussion on marriage and sex. In this respect they stood on the same line that extended from the Enlightenment movement that challenged superstition and prejudice.

The strengthened regulations for atmospheric emissions from ships have caused a necessity of new, alternative power system in ships for the low pollutant emissions and the high energy efficiency. Recently, new kinds of propulsion power system such as fuel cell system, which use hydrogen as an energy source, have been sincerely considered. The purpose of this work is to predict the performance of methanol fueled SOFC system and to analyze the influence of operating temperature, current density, S/C, and H₂ utilization ratio.

알렉스 컴포트의 뉴아나키즘에 대한 몇 가지 검토

사회에서 죽음을 극복하려는 컴포트의 노력은 개인의 책임을 인지시키려는 노력으로 나아갔다. 컴포트는 무사회의 사회 속에서 개인의 주체성과 자아 그리고 책임을 발견해 내려 하며 이를 강조했다. 이런 노력은 개인을 집단에 매몰시키는 권력에 대한 대항으로 귀결될 수밖에 없었다. 그런데 그는 권력에 대항하기 위해 조직적인 권력을 이용하고 동원하는 기존의 운동 방식은 성공할 수 없다고 보았다. 왜냐하면 대항하는 그들 역시 권력을 추구하기 때문이었다. 역사는 그런 사례를 보여주고 있다. 러시아 혁명, 프랑스 혁명, 중국 혁명, 쿠바 혁명 등은 모두 더 강력한 독재자의 출현을 보여주고 있으며 혁명 이후 개인은 새로운 권력에 종속되어야 했다. 그래서 그는 권력에 대항하는 새로운 처방책을 제시했다. 기존의 혁명이나 운동 방식을 배제하면서 투쟁하는 새로운 방법론으로 컴포트는 끝없는 혁명이라는 방식을 제안했다. 이는 지속적으로 진행되는 개인들의 불복종과 직접행동의 과정을 의미했다. 이 혁명은 개인이 살아 있는 운동이며, 운동의 과정에서 개인과 개인의 이해와 연대가 증진되는 효과가 나타날 수 있는 운동이었다. 징집거부와 반핵운동에서 구체적으로 시도된 이런 방법들이 극적인 효과를 나타내었다고 하기는 힘들지만 새로운 운동의 가능성을 보여주었다는 점에서는 의미를 지닌다. 결국 컴포트에게 핵심은 개인을 바탕으로 하여 만들어 지는 힘이었다. 당에 대한 충성심 그리고 나아가 국가에 대한 충성심과 같이 자신을 버리고 집단에 자기를 종속시키는 행위는 자유로부터 도피하는 행위이며 아울러 책임으로부터도 도피하는 행위였다. 컴포트는 개인과 개인이 사회적 응집력을 통해 연결되는 사회가 올바른 사회라고 보았는데 그는 이 과정에서 성이 개인의 사회적 응집성을 높이는데 중요한 기능을 한다고 주장했다. 컴포트는 개인이 주체성과 책임감을 되찾기를 요구하고 있는 것이다. 그런 점에서 그는 비대해져 가는 국가 속에서 개인을 발견하고 있는 신르네상스맨이라고 할 수 있을 것이다. Comfort"s efforts to overcome death in society led to an effort to perceive individual responsibility. Comfort attempts to discover the subjectivity, self, and responsibility of individuals in the asocial society. Such efforts have inevitably led to opposition to the power which push individuals into groups. And he presented a new prescription against this power. He thought that pursuing a revolution by employing and mobilizing organized forces to overthrow power could not succeed. Because they are also seeking power. History shows such examples. The Russian Revolution, the French Revolution, the Chinese Revolution and the Cuban Revolution all showed the emergence of a more powerful dictator, and after the revolution, the individual had to be subordinated to new power. How then should we struggle, excluding the revolution of this kind? In this regard, Comfort suggests an endless revolution. This refers to the process of continuous disobedience and direct action by individuals. In this exercise, a movement with active individuals can be developed. In addition, the effects of increasing the understanding and solidarity among individuals could be shown in the process of the exercise. It is difficult to say that these methods, which have been specifically tried in the rejection of conscription and the anti-nuclear movement, have shown dramatic effects. However, it has a great significance in showing the possibility of a new movement. Eventually the crucial point that Comfort emphasized was the power that was built on an individual basis. And the revolution had to be done with that power. Not to mention the revolutionary socialists, the social democrats also emphasized the aims of the group, and the individual was subordinated to the aims of the group. The act of allegiance to the party, such as loyalty to the party and loyalty to the nation, abandoning oneself and subordinating oneself to the group was an act of fleeing from freedom and escaping from responsibility. Comfort is requiring individuals to regain their subjectivity and reclaim their responsibility. In that sense, he may be called a "New Renaissance Man" who is discovering the importance of individuals in a centralized and collectivized state. And the movement of New Anarchists can be regarded as a new Renaissance movement. This is because the movement is trying to discover human values and individual responsibility in a society where individuality is disappearing.

N/A Calibration is a prerequisite procedure for employing a camera as a 3D sensor in an automated machines like robots. As accurate sensing is possible only when the vision sensor is calibrated accurately, many different approaches and models have been proposed for increasing calibration accuracy. Particularly an important factor which greatly affects the calibration accuracy is the nonlinearity in the mapping between 3D world and corresponding 2D image. In this paper GMDH algorithm is used to learn the nonlinearity without physical modelling. The technique proposed can be effective in various situations where the levels of noises and characteristics of nonlinear distortion are different. In simulations and an experiment, the proposed technique showed good and reliable results.
