The effects of exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) on the combustion characteristics were experimentally investigated with LPG, in the constant volume combustion chamber. By using this system. the combustion characteristics such as combustion pressure. the rate of heat release. burned ratio and name propagation speed was analyzed at the various equivalence ratio and EGR rate. With the increase of EGR rate. the maximum combustion pressure and the flame propagation speed were decreased almost linearly. Also. under the various equivalent ratio and initial pressure condition. the effect of EGR rate on the combustion characteristics and flame propagation characteristics was discussed.
