본 연구에서는 이사회 구성원의 개인적인 특성에 속하는 재직기간이 성과측정시스템의 이용 방식에 미치는 영향과 환경불확실성의 조절효과를 분석한다. 그리고 이사회 평균 재직기간에 따른 성과측정시스템의 이용이 조직성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석한다. 이를 위해 표본 기업의 이사회 구성원의 평균 재직기간을 TS2000 DB를 활용하여 측정하였고 성과측정시스템의 이용, 환경불확실성, 그리고 조직성과 변수는 설문을 통해 측정하였다. 성과측정시스템의 이용방식은 Simons(1995)의 ‘levers of control’ 개념에 의한 진단적 이용과 상호작용적 이용으로 분류하여 측정하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 이사회 구성원의 평균 재직기간에 따라 성과측정시스템의 이용 방식에 차이가 나타나고 있다. 특히, 이사회 구성원의 평균 재직기간은 성과측정시스템의 상호작용적 이용과 부(-)의 효과를 미치고 있다. 그리고 이사회 구성원의 평균 재직기간과 성과측정시스템의 이용방식의 관계는 환경불확실성의 정도에 따라 달라지고 있다. 즉, 환경불확실성이 증가할수록 이사회 구성원의 재직기간에 따른 성과측정시스템의 상호작용적 이용의 감소가 완화되는 결과를 보이고 있다. 성과측정시스템 이용과 성과간의 관계는, 성과측정시스템의 상호작용적 이용이 증가하면 재무 성과와 비재무 성과가 모두 증가하였다. 본 연구의 공헌점은 두 가지로 들 수 있다. 첫째, 이사회 구성원의 재직기간이 성과측정시스템의 활용에 영향을 미친다는 것을 보임으로써 의사결정자의 인구통계학적인 특성과 관리통제시스템간의 관계에 대한 연구를 확장하는데 공헌점이 있다. 둘째, 최고 경영진의 특성과 리더십에 대한 연구에서 환경불확실성의 조절역할을 강조한 것과 같이, 본 연구는 이사회 구성원의 특성과 성과측정시스템의 관계에서 환경불확실성의 조절역할에 대한 실증결과를 보임으로써 경영자 특성과 관리통제시스템의 연구를 보다 확장하였다. In this paper, we investigate how the board of directors use performance measurement system in accordance with the average tenure of board of directors and the moderating effects of perceived environmental uncertainty. board of directors differ in their use of performance measurement system, which in turn affects organizational performance. The average tenure of board of directors was measured from TS2000 DB and the use of performance measurement system, perceived environmental uncertainty, and organizational performance was measured using the survey. Using a combination of archival and survey data collected from 77 companies, we find evidence supporting a negative association between tenure and use of performance measurement system that is moderated by the perceived environmental uncertainty. We find this negative effect of tenure on interactive use of performance measurement system is mitigated when environmental uncertainty increases. When interactive use of performance measurement system increases, both non-financial and financial performances are increased. The contribution of the paper is then two-fold. First, This study show that tenure of the board of directors affects to use of performance measurement system, and this result help extend research that the demographic characteristics of decisionmakers influences on management control systems. Second, this study extends top management team research related to management control systems considering a contextual factor(e.g. environmental uncertainty) such as in many top management teamand leadership research investigate themoderation effect of the firm’s environment.

We introduce an iteration method for common fixed points of some nonlinear mappings which are more general than a generalized contraction and then prove a convergence theorem containing that of Q. Liu [4] for this definition in a nonempty convex subset of a Banach space.

Many authors have generalized the Banach's Contraction Principle. In this paper, we presents a new proof of a result due to Ohta-Nikaido by considering the diameter of the orbit on compact metric spaces.
