소목(蘇木)과 황련(黃連) 추출물(抽出物)의 Bacillus cereus와 Vibrio parahaemolyticus에 대한 항세균활성(抗細菌活性)

Objectives: This experimental study was performed to investigate the antibacterial effect of Caesalpinia sappan and Coptis chinensis extract against B. cereus and V. parahaemolyticus. Methods: Methanol extracts of C. sappan and C. chinensis was tested against B. cereus and V. parahaemolyticus by paper disc method. Results: The growth of B. cereus and V. parahaemolyticus was inhibited by C. sappan and C. chinensis extract among 6 kinds of medicinal plant extracts. The extract of C. sappan and C. chinensis extract inhibited the growth of V. parahaemolyticus and B. cereus, respectively. The growth of B. cereus and V. parahaemolyticus had a tendency to increase depend on the concentration of the extract. EtOEt and EtOAc fractions and EtOEt and BuOH fractions of the C. sappan extract had a high antibacterial activity against B. cereus and V. parahaemolyticus, respectively. And, BuOH and H2O fractions of the C. chinensis extract showed antibacterial activity against B. cereus highly. Conclusions: C. sappan and C. chinensis extract efficiently inhibited the growth of B. cereus and V. parahaemolyticus.

Objectives: This research was investigated the anticoagulant effect of the Gleditsiae spina extract. Methods: We researched prothrombin time (PT) assay, activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) assay in vitro and in vivo using arteriovenous (A-V) shunt rat model and shortening Rat tail bleeding time (BT). A-V shunt and BT were treated with extract of Gleditsiae spina (GS) 400 ㎎/kg for a week. Results: Bleeding time of Gleditsiae spina extract in vivo had a significant increase as about 1.2 times and thrombus weight of Gleditsiae spina extract had a significant reduction of thrombus weight as 26%. Gleditsiae spina extract represented an effect of anticoagulation by operating on extrinsic pathway factor II, V, VII, X and intrinsic pathway factor Ⅷ, Ⅸ, Ⅹ, XI, XII in the coagulation system. Conclusions: Considering the above mentioned results, it is judged that a Gleditsiae Spina extract has a control effect of thrombus creation.
강활추출물이 알레르기 천식 모델 생쥐에 기관지폐포세척액의 면역세포에 미치는 영향

Objectives: This study was designed to investigate therapeutic effects fo NR on allergic asthma in terms of mesurement of cytokine profiles, distribution of BAL and expression levels of asthma induced by OVA. Methods: C57BL/6 mouse was divided into normal, NR Ⅰ, control, and NR Ⅱ, and Notopterygii Rhizoma Extract was orally administered to the C57BL/6 mice in the normal group and the normal mouse in NR Ⅰgroup while it was orally administered to the control group after inducing asthma by OVA and NR Ⅱ. The study measured them by means of ELISA after dividing BALF of each group, and analyzed RT-PCR by using lung tissues. Results: In our results, lung weight and the number of total cells in the lung and of Leukocyte and Eosinophils in BALF were significantly decreased. In addition, IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, and IgE in BALF were significantly decreased compared to the control group. Conclusions: These results demonstrate that NR Extract be a desirable altemative therapy for allergic asthma by inhibiting the expressin of immune cells, the activation of inflammatory mediator.
