운동선수의 KF-94 마스크 착용에 따른 최대 무산소성 운동 후 회복기 혈중 젖산과 심박수 모니터링

Purpose: This study aims to provide basic data to improve athletes’ safety and performance by quantifying the effect of KF94-masks on changes in lactic acid level and heart rate during recovery after high-intensity anaerobic exercise. Methods: Ten well-trained soft tennis athletes (five male and five female) participated in this study. Their blood lactic acid and heart rate levels were repeatedly measured and monitored immediately after a high-intensity anaerobic power test (Wingate test), depending on whether masks were worn or not, after 5, 10, and 20 minutes of recovery after exercise. The collected data were statistically processed through two-way repeated measures ANOVA and paired t-test. Results: Blood lactic acid levels were higher in the non-mask group than in the KF94-mask group immediately after exercise, and, 5, and 10 minutes after exercise (p<.05). The lactic acid removal rate was 40.10 ± 17.21% in the non-mask group, which was about 17% higher than 23.21 ± 11.99% in the KF94-mask group (p=.009). The peak power and mean power values in the anaerobic power were also high in the non-mask group (p<.05). Conclusion: The results indicate that high-intensity exercise while wearing a mask could negatively affect anaerobic exercise performance and lactic acid recovery after exercise.
고강도의 저항성 운동 수행 시 흰쥐 Type Ⅱ 골격근에서 노화에 의한 근합성 신호 변화

The present study was performed to investigate the effect of resistance exercise on aged muscle protein synthesis. Young (12 wk, n=28) and aged (100 wk, n=26) male, Sprague-Dawley rats (n = 56) were randomly assigned to the time course of resistance exercise. Ladder climbing was performed with a 1 m wire ladder, at an 85° angle and the weight bearing was added to the tail (1RM 60~80%, total 25~30 climbs/h). Muscle samples were obtained before and recovery period of the exercise (pre, immediately after, recovery 1hr, and 3hr from the climbing). Protein expressions were analyzed for PKB/Akt, mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), p70S6 kinase (p70S6k), eukaryotic initiation factor (eIF) 4E-binding protein (BE-BP1) and AMPK phosphorylation. This type of resistance exercise generated a significant increase in mTOR phosphorylation immediately after exercise in aged rats (~71%, p=.02). In addition, 4EBP1 Phosphorylation was significantly decreased at the immediately (~42%, p=.05) after exercise and decreased up to an hour recovery. However, Phosphorylation of p70S6K was elevated above rest level throughout the 3hrs recovery(347%, p=.004). On the other hand, Phospho-AMPK (Thr172) tended to be greater than the young rats. These results suggest that the intensitive resistance exercise positively effect on muscle protein synthesis in aged skeletal muscle.
무산소, 유산소 운동종목별 엘리트선수의 등속성 근기능에 미치는 영향

이 연구는 에너지 기여도에 따른 무산소, 유산소 운동종목 선수들의 등속성 근력, 근파워 그리고 H/Q 비율을 검증하기위해 수행되었다. 연구대상자는 대한체육회에 등록된 선수 120명을 무산소 운동종목(n=60; 단거리, 역도, 도약, 투척, 볼링, 골프종목 선수)과 유산소 운동종목 집단(n=60; 근대5종, 필드하키, 핸드볼, 자전거, 복싱, 조정종목 선수)으로 구분하였으며, 무릎관절의 신전근과 굴곡근력 그리고 햄스트링근/대퇴사두근력 비율은 등속성 장비인 cybex 770을 이용하여 주측 다리의 60°, 180°/sec에서 실시하였다. 무산소 집단과 유산소 집단 간 차이를 검증하기 위해 독립표본 t-test(Independent t-test)를 사용하였으며, 각 집단 내에서 종목별 차이를 검증하기 위해 일원변량분석(One-way ANOVA)를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 무산소 운동종목에서 유산소 운동종목에 비해 신전근력, 굴곡근력, 굴곡근 파워가 더 높은 것으로 나타났으며(p<.05), 육상 단거리와 도약종목의 선수들에서 다른 종목에 비해 근력과 근파워가 높은 것으로 나타났다(p<.05). 그러나, 유산소운동종목 집단에서는 집단내 종목별 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 또한, 모든 종목에서 H/Q 비율은 50-60%로 안정된 범위의 비율을 보였다. 이상의 연구결과는 엘리트선수들과 지도자들에게 경기력 향상을 위해 생리학과 더불어 스포츠 과학적인 유익한 정보를 제공해줄 수 있을 것이라 사료된다. This study was conducted to compare the muscle strength, muscle power, and H/Q ratio according to energy system contribution in athletes participating in various sports. Subjects of the study were assigned into an Anaerobic Exercise Group (AEG, n=60; Short-Distance, Weight Lifting, Jumping, Throwing, Bowling, Golf) and an Endurance Exercise Group (EEG, n=60; Modern Pentathlon, Field Hockey, Handball, Cycle, Boxing, Rowing) groups. Isokinetic peak torque/body weight% and flexor/extensor ratio at 60, 180 deg/sec of knee extension and flexion were measured using an cybex 770. Data analysis was conducted using an independent t-test and one-way ANOVA. Based on the results of this study, there was higher extension, flexion strength and flexion power in the AEG than the EEG (p<0.05). We also confirmed higher muscle strength and muscle power in short distance and jumping athletes than other athletes participating in other events (p<0.05). However, there was no significant difference within the endurance exercise group. The HS ratio was within a stable range of 50% to 60% in all events. Collectively, the outcomes of this study indicate that routine physiological and performance testing can provide measurable benefits for elite athletes and their coaches.
노화가 고강도의 유산소 운동 시 흰쥐의 Type Ⅱ 골격근 세포 내 근 합성 반응에 미치는 영향

The present study was performed to investigate the effect of an intensive endurance exercise on muscle protein synthesis in aged skeletal muscle. Young (12 wk) and aged (l00 wk) male Sprague-Dawley rats (N=56) were randomly assigned to the time course of the treadmill running (75-80% VO₂ max, 1hr). Muscle samples were obtained before and during the recovery period of the running (immediately after, 1hr, and 3hr after the running) from EDL muscle. PKB/Akt, mTOR, p70S6k, 4E-BP1 and AMPK phosphorylation were determined by SDS-PAGE and western blotting. From the results of this study, we confirmed Akt(298%, p=.001), mTOR(389%, p=.001) and p70S6K(397%, p=.009) in young group, as well as Akt(l73%, p=.001), mTOR(193%, p=.001) and p70S6K(335%, p=.001) in old group were significantly increased after the intensive endurance running (p<.05). These increased responses were maintained up to 3 hours of the recovery in both groups. The level of p70S6K phosphorylation was higher in young than old group (35%, p=.002), on the contrary to the level of AMPK phosphorylation was higher in old than young group (25%, p=.001). These results suggest that intensive endurance exercise positively effect on muscle protein synthesis not only in young but also in aged skeletal muscle.
아라비녹실란 섭취와 유산소성 운동 중재에 따른 혈중 면역글로불린 및 지질 농도의 차이 분석

Arabinoxylan extracted from rice bran has an impact on developing immune function and lipid metabolism. Regular aerobic exercise might improve serum immunoglobulin (Ig) concentration with B cell proliferation. Therefore, this study was planned to investigate the effect of arabinoxylan ingestion and regular aerobic exercise in rats for 4 weeks. Thirty-two Sprague-Dawley rats (aged 8wks) were divided into CON(control, n=8), ARA(arabinoxylan, n=8), EXE(aerobic exercise, n=8) and ARA+EXE (arabinoxylan+aerobic exercise, n=8) groups. ARA group was orally ingested with arabinoxylan for 4 weeks. EXE group ran on the rodent treadmill at 15m/min for 4 weeks (5d/w). ARA+EXE group performed both arabinoxylan ingestion and exercise for the same duration. Serum IgA, IgM, IgG concentration and TG, FFA, TC, HDL-C and LDL-C were anlayzed by ELISA kits. The concentration of IgA of ARA(p=.006), EXE(p=.027) and ARA+EXE(p=.013) were significantly higher than that of CON. However, IgM and IgG level had no differences between groups(p >.05). TC level of ARA and EXE were significantly lower than that of CON(p<.05), however there were no differences between groups in other lipid profiles(p>.05). Taken together, regular arabinoxylan ingestion and aerobic exercise can increase IgA concentration, which improves immune function of mucous membrane and upper respiratory system.
장시간의 일회성 지구성 운동 수행 시 노화에 의한 쥐 골격근의 NF-ĸB 신호전달 변화

Nuclear factor kappa B (NF- kB) is an important transcription factor of skeletal muscle atrophy. Several studies have been explored the possibile pathways which may be modulated with exercise and age. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of one single bout of endurance exercise on nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB) activation and MuRF1 expression in old rat. 32 rats were used and were divided into two groups by age; 20 weeks (n=16) vs 72 weeks (n=16). Each experimental group was further divided into two subgroups; Before exercise (n=8) and after exercise (n=8). All animals in exercise groups performed a 3 hr swimming exercise (30min x 6 bouts with 5min rest). Following the swimming exercise, the protein level of NF-kB (p65) subunit was increased in both old and young group(p<.05). The protein level of NF-kB (p65) was higher in old than young group before exercise (p<.05) and the expression of MuRF1 in only old group was increased with the swimming exercise(p<.05). On the other hand, In this study phospho-IkBa was unchnaged (p>.05). These results suggest that the expression of nuclear factor kappa B (NF- kB) with endurance exercise may a key role in muscle atrophy in aged group.
노화와 일회 지구성 운동이 골격근 내 mTOR, 4E-BP1, p70S6K 및 AMPK 발현에 미치는 영향

We determined acute endurance exercise on mTOR signaling responses in aging skeletal muscle(soleus; SOL, extensor digitorium longus; EDL). Total 32 Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into two groups by age; young group(YG; 20wk; n=16) or old group(OG; 72wk; n=16). Each experimental group was further allocated two subgroups; Exercise(EX; n=8), Control(CON; n=8) group. All animals in exercise group performed one bout of 3hr endurance swimming exercise (30min×6bouts). The phosphorylation of mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR) and p70 ribosomal S6 kinase(p70S6K) were significantly increased in 20wk(YG) soleus (p<.05). However, the phosphorylation of mTOR and eukaryotic initiation of factor 4E binding protein 1(4EBP1) were significantly decreased in 72wk(OG) muscles(p<.05) after endurance acute swimming exercise. The phosphorylation state of AMPK was significantly increased in 20wk(YG) muscles(p<.05) and 72wk soleus(p<.01) after exercise. The results suggest that a bout endurance exercise was increased AMPK activity but inhibited mTOR and 4E-BP1 phosphorylation in aging slow-twitch muscle.
