        권은채(Kwon, Eun-Chae),이종민(Lee, Jong-Min) 한국실내디자인학회 2018 한국실내디자인학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.20 No.3

In March 2018, the 4th grade building design studio (5), which is the first semester of the 4th grade, conducted a project to revitalize the international exchange center located in Youngnam University through eco-friendly construction. In line with European countries that are leading global environmental policy, fine dust has raised the issue of the environment recently, resulting in a gradual shift in perception and increasing interest among Koreans and government. Various alternatives are being sought to cope with this, and existing architectures that are directly linked to the destruction of ecosystem in the architectural field are also working to solve the problem. Therefore, an important part of this design has been applied in a variety of ways. We observed and analyzed the current status of students using the Center for International Exchange at Youngnam University and the operational patterns of the school"s side and found problems. Through this project, the Center for International Exchange was able to offer an alternative plan to make the center a place where Korean students and foreign students can actively interact.

Food poisoning accidents caused by poisonous plants occur every year. As certain poisonous plants are mistaken for edible plants causing food poisoning, accurate species identification of poisonous plants is required. DNA barcodes suitable for species identification of poisonous plants and database that can be used for accurate species identification are necessary for their use in forensic cases. In this study, species identification of 19 poisonous plants native to Jeju Island using seven DNA barcodes (trnH-psbA, trnL-trnF, trnL intron, rbcL, matK, ITS1-ITS4, 18S rRNA) was performed to construct a database containing sequence information and DNA barcode universality. trnL-trnF barcode and ITS1-ITS4 barcode were the easiest markers for PCR amplification and sequence retrieval, and the combination of the two barcodes enabled single species identification in 18 out of 19 plants. Therefore, when an investigation of unknown poisonous plants is requested, combination of trnL-trnF and ITS1-ITS4 barcodes is considered as a primary marker for species identification. The database of recommended DNA barcodes for each poisonous plant presented in this study will be helpful in plants poisoning cases.

참을 수 있는 공동체의 ‘가벼움’: 페미니즘 책모임 ‘위페’의 사회적 관계에 관한 소고

        권은채 ( Kwon Eunchae ) 한국문화인류학회 2022 韓國文化人類學 Vol.55 No.3

Since feminism was “rebooted” in South Korea in mid-2010s, feminism has also become a t rend in Korean publishing markets. Not only have the books that cover topics related to feminism increased both qualitatively and quantitatively, it is also true that the way to read them has changed. Internet and social media allowed people who are eager to learn feminism and link to one another to make relations beyond online networks, which has led toward literacy practices becoming more collective. In this study I articulate the nature of social relationships constructed among young female feminists in Korea by analyzing their online and in-person interactions. To do so, I bring the concept of “light” community, referring to the social groups building flexible but temporarily intense relationships, which is different from the “thick” communities that are constructed based on substantial identities such as gender, race, or religion. With the concept of lightness, this study demonstrates that the members of the club remain neither intimate nor anonymous but light, in spite of a strong ideological grounding in feminism. This ethnographic case study of collective literacy practices of reading feminist books together illustrates the meaning and limits of feminist solidarity in contemporary South Korea.
