Effect of Filter Point Pattern on Hydraulic Performance of Fabric Form

Hydraulic performance of geotextile fabric form is strongly dependent on the filter point specifications, such as size, pattern and repeat units etc. This paper introduced what filter points influence long-term performance of fabric form and relationship between these specifications and serviceability during installation periods. Besides this, engineering properties to be considered the real installation conditions were evaluated such as tensile, compressive strength through model simulation.
Tensile Property Evaluation of Nonwoven Geotextiles in Simulated Sea Water Solution

Four types of nonwoven geotextiles were used to examine the applicability for the coastal engineering field and tensile properties were reviewed in 10% NaCl solution as a simulated sea water. The immersion conditions were 96, 192, 500 hours at 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, $85^{\circ}C$ respectively. For the case of 10% NaCl solution immersion for 96 and 192 hours, nonwoven geotextiles showed little decrease in tensile strain although the temperature increased. However, as immersing time was expanded to 500 hours, the tensile strain decreased seriously as the temperature increased. Tensile strain and strength of geotextiles decreased by increasing temperature and NaCl solution resistance of nonwoven geotextiles is significantly dependent on temperatures such as higher the temperature, lower the NaCl solution resistance.

4가지 타입 부직포 지오텍스타일의 해양 적용성을 조사하기 위하여 10% NaC1용액을 이용하여 부직포 지오텍스타일을 노출실험을 실시하였다. MD(Machine Direction) 및 CMD(Cross Machine Direction)에서의 부직포 지오텍스타일 시료를 채취한 후 10% NaC1용액에 침지시켰으며, 실험 조건은 25, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85℃에서 각각 96, 192, 500 시간으로 하였다. 부직포 지오텍스타일의 화학저항성은 노출 전·후의 인장강도를 비교, 평가하였다.

It must be solved some important problem to connect and add the corelation effects between index and field test results for installation damage of geosynthetics. Especially, advanced and differential concept for reliance of index and field test results should be supposed for installation damage test. For example, particle size, angularity, compaction type and cycle, installation condition factors etc. must be involved to the standard test method. In this study, one of the advanced and specialized concept was supposed for the regulation of geosynthetics installation damage test.
