In this paper, we study a disturbance observer (DOB) based controller for an EMS(Electro-Magnetic Suspension) system in presence of mass uncertainty and input disturbance. The DOB based controller is employed in order to compensate the modeling uncertainty and attenuate disturbance signals. For the design of DOB based controller, the Jacobain linearization of nonlinear system model equation is used. Computer simulation is carried out for nonlinear model in order to compare the performance of the proposed DOB controller with that of the conventional PID controller. The simulation results show that the substantial improvement in the performance can be achieved by the proposed DOB controller.

The anti-inflammatory effect of Sargassum micracanthumwater extract (SMWE) was investigated using lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammatory response in this study. The murinemacrophage cell line RAW 264.7 cells were used and MTT assaywas performed to measure the cell proliferation ability. Thesecretion of nitric oxide (NO), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and IL-1β was measured in LPS-inducedRAW 264.7 cells by ELISA. The expression of inducible nitricoxide synthase (iNOS), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and nucleartranscription factor-kappa B p65 protein was studied by immunoblotting. The Balb/c mice were used for an acute toxicity test, andimprinting control region mice were purchased to evaluate acroton oil-induced ear edema. As a result, there was no cytotoxicityin the macrophage proliferation treated with SMWE compared tothe control. NO levels decreased with increasing concentration ofSMWE and were inhibited over 50%. Moreover, the secretion ofIL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β was suppressed in a dose-dependentmanner, especially, IL-1β inhibition activity was over 50% at 50μg/mL. The formation of ear edema of mice was reduced at thehighest dose tested compared to that in the control. Moreover, inacute toxicity test, no moralities occurred in mice administered5, 000 mg/kg body weight of SMWE over 2 weeks observationperiod. These results suggested that SMWE may have significanteffects on inflammatory factors and be potential anti-inflammatorytherapeutic materials.

The purpose of this study is the establishment ofscientific processes for making food safety policies. Thus, weinvestigated pesticide residue level of the agricultural commoditiesfrom market, and performed risk assessment. Fifteen agriculturalitems are chosen based on the frequency of Korean consumption.The samples were collected from 9 cities where populations aremore than one million. Total 283 active ingredients were monitoring( total sample number =232). Single-analysis of target pesticideswas for three kinds of possible growth regulators and the multicomponentanalysis was for 280 kinds of pesticides, a total of 283species were selected to perform the pesticide residues. Beforemonitoring the analytes, the improvements of the analytical methodswere done by method validations under the CODEX analyticalmethod development guidelines and can produce metrics thatrepresent the international standards applied in accordance with theguidelines. In addition to residual pesticides detected duringmonitoring we compare the ADI to EDI values using detectedresult and dietary consumption data which is extracted fromannual market basket survey. The 163 samples were non-detectedin the total 232 samples so it means that every agriculturalcommodity will residual pesticides-free in 70.3%. The detectedresidual pesticides showed for a total of 69 cases (29.7%). Two ofsamples violate Korean MRL (0.9%). The ratio of EDI comparedto ADI resulted in only from 0.00087 to 0.902%. In result, we canassume that all detected residual pesticides are very safe level andcurrent policies of Korean pesticides control may be working.
