In the briquet-burning hot water boiler the $SO_x$-dew point is calculated and found to be between $130^{\circ}C\;and\;154^{\circ}C$. The corrosion rate depends on the surface temperature and the concentration of the condensate on the surface. The concentration of the condensate is decided acoording to the difference detween $SO_x$-dew point and the surface temperature. When the surface temperature is $80^[\circ}C$, the concentration of the condensate is also high (0.15N). Therefore the high concentration and high temperature promote the high corrosion rate of $14{\times}13^{-3}g/100cm^2{\cdot}hr$ on the SS41 material. On the other hand, when the surface temperatures are $60^{\circ}C\;and\;40^{\circ}C$, the concentrations and the co..sion rates are reduced dramatically to $0.11\;N,\;8.6{\tiems}10^{-3}g/100cm^2{\cdot}hr$ and $5{\tiems}10^{-4}g/100cm^2{\cdot}hr$ respectively.

본 論文은 Comprex 압력파 과급기(Press-ure-wave Supercharger; 이하 PWS) 의 공기역학적인 원리에 대해 기술하였으며, 또 기체 동력학적인 현상들이 별도의 제어장치없이도 우수한 운전성과 낮은 연료소모율, 적은 배기 배출물을 형성하는 차량들에 對한 기계적으로는 간단하면서도 완벽한 boosting 장치를 만들어 내는데 어떻게 사용될 수 있는지를 설명하였다.<br/> 근본적인 目的은 종래의 turbo charger 와 동일하지만 Comprex PWS 는 현재 응용되고 있는 승용차가 요고하는 여러가지면, 즉<br/> 1) 부하변동에 대한 층진공기압의 빠른 응답성<br/> 2)엔진속도 全영역에 걸친 높은 boost 효과<br/> 3) 배기배출물특성을 좋게할 수 있는 배기가스 재순환(EGR)효과<br/> 등에서 종래의 것과 구별된다.<br/> 따라서 PWS의 중요한 특징들을 기술하였으며 마지막으로 최근 자동차용 Diesel Engi-ne 에의 몇가지 例를 보였다.
A Study on Generation of Negative Oxygen Ions Using Surface Dielectric Barrier Discharge

Nowadays, ionizers are used very popular for producing negative oxygen ions, which is good for human being health. However, most of the ionizers in the present market are using needle-plate structure in which corona discharge occurs. Comparing with corona discharge, surface discharge is much more compact in the configuration and produces less ozone. For the purpose of finding out the best reactor structure, four types of surface dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactors were examined to produce negative oxygen ions at the conditions of 4.24 ㎸ and 356 ㎐. Then influence of frequency (50 ㎐ to 400 ㎐) on the performance of this reactor was also examined on keeping operation voltage and waveform in constant. The results indicated that the surface DBD reactor showed better characteristics for generation of negative oxygen ions when frequency was between 100 ㎐ and 200 ㎐.
디젤엔진의 공해물질 저감을 위한 플라즈마 개질기 특성 연구

In this study, a new plasma system is introduced to the generation of hydrogen-rich gas for decreasing pollutants from diesel engine and for other applications. The designed plasma system allows to reform diesel fuel i nto hydrogen rich gas (H₂ + CO). Plasma boosts partial oxidation reaction that reforms hydrocar bon fuels into hydrogen-rich gas partial oxidation (at oxygen/carbon ratio = 1, exothermic reactio n). As a source of non-equilibrium plasma, we used a low current plasmatron with convective co oling of electrodes. Power supply of a plasma generator was as followings: DC power supply (400-800V, 1-4A) and pulse generator (2.5-3.5kV, 20-1OOmA, 10-15kHz). We gauged the gas composition in reformed gas by GC-TCD, concentration change of hydrogen as a function of current applied to the reformer. The outcomes of experiments allow to draw a conclusion about high performance of a d esigned plasma system. Potential exhaust aftertreatment applications: NO_x, absorber catalyst regeneration, HC SCR aftertreatment, and operation of Diesel Engine on air-fuel mixture with hydrogen admixtures.<br/>

Recently, the problem of exhaust gas pollution is increasingly being aggravated by the active use of the Diesel engine. For the fuel-injection system which affects the composition of exhaust gas from the Bosch type single-hole nozzle in the Diesel engine, a mathematical mo-del was set up to study pressure variations in the high pressure pipe, the injection rate, and the needle lift.<br/> The fundamental equations of the mathematical model have been solved by the Newton-Raphson Method applying the Finite Diffrence Method. The effective stroke of the injection pump plunger due to a change in engine rpm was calculated by the measurement of Control Rack, Pinion, and Plunger sizes and by the use of Characteristic Curve of Governor.<br/> The computed results for the pressure variations in the high pressure pipe and needle lift at 800 rpm and 1000 rpm are in good agreement with experimental ones in general.<br/> By a developed program, the effects of other various parameters will be calculated for the performance of the fuel-injection system.

In this work, the possibility of using the electric arc plasmatron for the work on the water vapor as the basic heat-transfer agent - as the plasma-forming gas. The theoretical calculation is carried out and the practical results of the work of the plasmatron using the water vapor are obtained. Process of the decomposition of waste oil for increasing the efficiency of heat exchange in technological process is investigated.
