From the root of Rhamnella frangulioides(=Microrhamnus frangulioides), three compounds (Comp. I ; mp 140∼142°, Comp. II; mp 196°, Comp. III ; mp 136∼138°) were isolated by silica gel column chromatographic purification which were identified as β-sitosterol, chrysophanol, 1-methyl-2-carboxymethyl-3-methoxy-4, 8-dihydroxy anthraquinone, respectively, by spectral analysis.

Blood flow is one of vital signals related to human physiological information. Photoplethysmograph (PPG) has been used to measure indirectly heart rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂), and so on. Because PPG signal is weak and sensitive to motion artifacts, it is very important to continuously obtain stable PPG signal during free movement. In this study, we applied the scaled Fourier linear combiner (SFLC) using both the adaptive filter and FLC to remove effectively the motion artifacts as well as background noise in the real time without additional signal correlated with motion from a accelerometer. The proposed method would be useful to reduce the movement and background noise which are not synchronized with heart rate.

The alkaloids of thirty five Korean plants which belong to Rhamnaceae, Sterculiaceae, Celastracea, Urticaceae and Rubiaceae were screened. Plant was extracted and solvent fractionated to yield ether soluble alkaloidal fraction and butanol soluble fraction. Each fraction was subjected to alkaloidal test by Dragendorff`s reaction. The result showed eighteen plants strong positive, fourteen weak and six negative to alkaloidal test.
