This paper describes the characteristics of effective impulse ground impedance of deeply driven ground rods combined with grounding grid or counterpoises with needles. The potential rises of the test ground electrodes were measured as a function of the rise time of applied impulse currents and the effective impulse ground impedances were calculated The impulse ground impedances of deeply driven ground rods strongly depend on the rise time of impulse currents and significantly reduced by the connection of grounding grids in parallel. 본 논문은 메쉬 접지전극이나 침부 매설지선이 연결된 심매설 봉상 접지전극의 실효임펄스접지임피던스의 특성을 다루었다. 시험용 접지전극의 전위상승은 인가된 임펄스 전류의 상승시간의 함수로 측정되었고, 실효임펄스접지 임피던스는 산출되었다. 심매설 봉상 접지전극의 임펄스접지임피던스는 임펄스 전류의 상승시간에 강하게 의존하며 메쉬 접지전각과의 병렬연결에 의해 확연히 감소하였다.

To obtain a low ground resistance in high resistivity soil or in insufficient place such as downtown, long vertical ground rods are often used. However, if the lightning current or fault current with high frequency flows into the grounding system, the ground impedance is remarkedly increased. This paper presents how the impulse and fault current works on the long vertical ground rods associated with incoming points. When the test current was injected at the bottom of ground rod, the potential waveform of ground rod includes the oscillation with high frequency.
