To select the desirable soybean cultivar for chonggugjang processing, the physicochemical characteristics of raw soybean materials and chonggugjang samples were investigated. Eight soybean varieties including Danyeobkong, Danbaegkong, Kwanankong, Pureunkong, Manlikong, Sinpaldalkong 2, Jinpeumkong and Hwankeumkong were used for experiment. On the basis of quality characteristics of raw materials, such as seed coat weight rate, hydration swelling, and the content of fructose, glucose and sucrose, and chonggugjang, such as hardness, γ-glutamyltranspeptidase (γ-GTP) activity, free amino acid content, and amino type nitrogen content, Sinpaldalkong 2 and Danyeobkong were desirable soybean cultivars for high quality chonggugjang processing.

The spider fauna of rice fields, marshes, and reclaimed lands was intensively explored in 2015-2022. During the seasonal survey, six Tibellus spiders were collected; two of them, Tibellus fengi Efimik, 1999 and Tibellus japonicus Efimik, 1999, were new to Korean spider fauna and four of them were identified as new species, Tibellus deokjeok sp. nov., Tibellus gimcheon sp. nov., Tibellus sihwa sp. nov., and Tibellus yeongdong sp. nov.. Four new species are similar to each other and known species in the shape of the genital organ and body appearance in both sexes, but can be distinguished from the other Tibellus members by the shape of embolus, conductor, retrolateral tibial apophysis, and ventral tibial apophysis in male and median septum, receptaculum, spermatheca, and copulatory duct in female. The present study taxonomically describes these six Tibellus spiders with diagnoses, measurements, and morphological photos with a key to the Korean Tibellus species.

The present study describes Philodromus paiki sp. nov., which was previously misidentified as P. fuscomarginatus (De Geer, 1778), P. poecilus (Thorell, 1872), and P. spinitarsis Simon, 1895 in Korea, as a new species with diagnosis, detailed descriptions, and taxonomic photographs. Additionally, P. spinitarsis is also described to correct previous misidentifications of Korean records of the species.
