The author has measured 10 items on the spinal cord and dura of 5 korean adult males at 2㎝ × horizontal dissection by the slicing machine. The following conclusions obtained about length, positional relationship and areas between the spinal cord and dura at each vertebral body level. 1. The antero-posterior and transverse diameter of the spinal cord was larges at C2 level and smallest at L1 level. 2. The greatest cross-sectional areas of the spinal cord were C6, T1 & T12 levels and smallest non-sacral area was at T8 level. 3. The antero-posterior and transverse diameter of the dura was largest at C2 level and smallest at S1 level. 4. The total area of intradural space was widest at L1, C2 levels and narrowest at C7 level. 5. The distance from dorsal skin to the spinal cord was longest at C2 level and shortest at T11 level. 6. The difference between angles of the mid-plane on the median point of dorsal skin to lateral margin of the dura and spinal cord was largest at L1 level and smallest at C6 level.
鷄胎 長骨成長에 미치는 Cortisone 및 Cyclophosphamide의 響影에 關한 硏究

This study was to observe the effects of cortisone and cyclophosphmide(endoxanasta) on growth of the long bones-humerus, ulna, femur, tibiotarsus and tarsometatarsus-in the chick embryos, and also studied the relationship between the ratio of the volume of the long bones in control, cortisone & endoxan treated groups and the degree of differention in them by the discriminant function method. The results were summarized as follows: 1. When injected with cortisone acetate, the long bones of the chick embryos were observed with remarkable growth inhibitionin in the first half of embryonal age. 2. The growth inhibition appeared to be much stronger with the group of 5mg dosage than that of 3mg dosage except tarsometatarsus, and 6th day group than 8th day group generally. 3. Endoxan also inhibited the growth of the long bones of the chick embryos in the first half of embryonal age and stronger than with the group of 0.2mg dosage than that of 0.1mg dosage generally. But endoxan of 0.lmg dosage showed no significant evidence of growth inhibition. 4. The discrimination of cortisone treated chick embryos from controlled chick emsbryos was easier than that of endoxan treated embryo from cortisone treated embryos and that of endoxan treated embryos from controlled embryos. 5. In the control and cortisone treated group, individual analysis could be discriminated by the discriminant value.
