The purpose of this study is to identify co-relationships among the variables which affects Korean tourists' external information search process in purchasing overseas Pleasure tour packages. Based on the model of external information search process which was developed by Perdue(1993), external information search process is assumed to have a function of optimizing 'the perceived importance of information and 'the perceived difficulty of information acquisition' in purchasing outbound tour packages. 240 self-administered questionnaires are filled out on the airport by the pleasure travelers who purchased overseas pleasure tour packages. Pearson co-relation analysis shows that 'the amount of external information search' is significantly positively related with 'the perceived importance of information' and negatively related with 'the perceived difficulty of information acquisition`. In addition, both prior travel experiences and enduring involvement in overseas travel do significantly affect 'the perceived importance of information and 'the perceived difficulty of information acquisition' respectively.
