Main streams to approach the problem of fatigue phenamena are divided into the following two categories; physiological and psychological approaches. From the findings concerned we can conclude that the above one of two approaches must not exclude the other. Because of the complexity of fatigue phenomena. it will be very hopeful and productive study to utilize the two methods together. The purpose of this pilot study of psychological fatigue in Korea is to consturct a scale for measuring feeling-tone of fatigue. Through the scale construction processes of Thurstone's Equal Appearing Intervals Technique, a pairs of A, B equivalent scale forms were obtained. Testifying reliability and validity of the scale, we find that these equivalent scales are very reliable and powerful instrument to measure the psychological feeling-tone of fatigue. 大學生의 態度測定에 關한 硏究(I) : 學生, 敎授 및 學校에 對한 態度

By the technique of Thurstone scale construction procedures, we constructed the attitude scales on the student, the professor, and the college. For compiling simple sentence statements, 252 subjects were participated in the first session. From this process we obtained 150-170 sentences for each attitude topic. The attitude scale values of each statement which were measured on 11-point rating scale were made by 442 college students. Unidimensional attitude scales of 20 statements on each attitude dimension were constructed by the criteria of mean scale value distance, dispersion of the scale value (Q), and the meaning of the statements. According to the meaning of the statements A B equivalent forms and simple 10 statement scales were prepared. Internal consistency of the A B equivalent form was average r of. 85. The split-half reliabilities of the two equivalent forms on the student, the professor, and the college are r of .72, .89, and. 87, respectively. In this study equvalent simple forms were administered to 1,328 students(including SKK students, Chunbug National University students, and Catholic Medical College) and 49 SKK professors. Main findings from this research were as follow: 1) The freshmen rated the students neutrally, the professors and the college positively, respectively. professors, and also positive on the college, respectively. 2) Female freshmen showed more favorable attitudes on all the three topics than those of the male freshmen. 3) Three university students revealed different attitude scale values on all the three topics. 4) It is identified that academic major of the students were interrelated with the attitude on the three topics. But confirming the relationship explicitly we need further study. 5) SKK professors revealed more favorable attitudes on the three topics than those of students.

In an attempt to study on the fundamental needs of Korean micro-bus workers, two survey blanks containing 15 statements each were completed by 406 drivers and 207 bus girls There were two aims: one was to investigate the main factors desired by the majority of workers and the other being dissatisfied in their works. Respondents were requested to select three, most needed, among the factors and to rank them in order of importance in Blank I; and they were asked, on the other hand, merely to check, in Blank II, on the factors with which they had been dissatisfied in their works. The results permit the following major conclusions: 1. The 5 factors of 15, desired strongly, by-a) drivers: and by-b) bus girls are listed below in order of the relative importance attached to factors in each groups. a)(1) Hours of work b)(1) Opportunity to learn a job (2) Steady employment(security) (2) Good boss(working with a good driver as her counter part) (3) Amount of pay (3) Steady employment(security) (4) Feeling of personal worth (4) Amount of pay (5) Good boss (5) Safety in work 2. The main factors being dissatisfied by-a) drivers: and-b) bus girls are listed below, in order of percentage of the frequencies, checked in each group. a)(1) Amount of pay(71%) b)(1) Opportunity to learn a job (73%) (2) Security(58%) (2) Amount of pay(65%) (3) Hours of work(53%) (3) Safety in work(58%) (4) Feeling of personal worth(44%) (4) Security (44%) 3. Significant differences were found on four of the 15 factors, as listed below, between responses to their desires of the two groups. (1) Opportunity to learn a job (2) Hours of work (3) Working condition (4) Good boss 4. Disagreement was greatest in selecting the factor of Opportunity to learn a jod. It was very significant that bus girls wanted this factor more strongly than drivers. This fact seems to justify that the bus girls were interested mainly in preparing themselves for their future. 5. The factor of easy work ranks last in both groups.
