<P>The aurora kinases constitute one family of serine/threonine kinases whose activity is essential for mitotic progression. The aurora kinases are frequently upregulated in human cancers and are associated with sensitivity to chemotherapy in certain ones. In the present study, we investigated whether aurora kinases could be a target to overcome radioresistance or enhance the radiosensitivity of lung cancer. For that purpose, we determined the therapeutic potential of daurinol, an investigational topoisomerase inhibitor, alone and in combination with radiation, by observing its effect on aurora kinases. Daurinol decreased cell viability and proliferation in human colon and lung cancer cells. Gene expression in daurinol-treated human colon cancer cells was evaluated using RNA microarray. The mRNA expression of 18 genes involved in the mitotic spindle check point, including aurora kinase A (AURKA) and aurora kinase B (AURKB), was decreased in daurinol-treated human colon cancer cells as compared with vehicle-treated cells. As expected, radiation increased expression levels of AURKA and AURKB. This increase was effectively attenuated by siRNAs against AURKA and AURKB, which suppressed cell growth and increased apoptosis under radiation. Furthermore, the expression of AURKA and AURKB was suppressed by daurinol in the presence or absence of radiation in colon and lung cancer cells. Daurinol alone or in combination with radiation decreased lung cancer growth in xenograft mouse models. Washing machines have the rotational eccentricity because of its unbalanced mass, and it generates the vibration problems. If the vibration and noise becomes severe, it degrades the quality of products. To reduce vibration in a washing machine, a ball-balancer has installed. It is known to have the better performance than the other existing ones in vibration reduction. In this paper, we derived the equation of motion of ball-balancing system and defined the fluid drag force to make the dynamic system of washing machines having behavior of ball-balancing. An advanced high-speed camera with a spatial resolution of 10.68 ㎛ and 3,000 frames at 1280 × 1024 was employed to observe the ball-balancing system. The result from the visual test will be used to make the whole dynamic system of ball-balancing washing machines.
환경오염물질 배출업소 지도 · 점검 문제점 분석을 통한 개선방안 연구

본 연구를 통해 배출업소 지도·점검 수행, 이력내용 관리 및 활용 등의 전반적인 지도·점검 이행 과정과 배출정보를 관리하고 활용하는데 발생하는 문제점을 도출하고 개선방안을 제언하였다. 업무담당자가 이용하고 있는 배출업소 지도·점검 업무 시스템을 분석하고, 업무담당자 설문 및 면담조사 등을 통하여 업무 및 배출정보 관리 실태를 분석하였다. 시군구행정정 보시스템을 구조적, 업무활용 관점에서 구분하여 분석한 결과, 인허가중심으로 설계되어 이용자들은 시스템을 통해 지도·점 검업무의 지원을 받지 못하는 실정이었다. 업무담당자 면담 및 설문조사 결과, 지도·점검 결과의 입력, 배출정보의 지속적 유지관리가 어려운 실정이었다. 이는, 현재 시스템이 제대로 활용되지 않아 발생하는 문제로 볼 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 토대로 국내에서 운영되는 유사시스템을 분석하여 시사점을 도출하고 개선방안을 제언하였다. 행정업무의 시스템화를 위한 간편한 업무처리화면 구축, 입력사항의 간소화, 지도·점검 및 배출정보 관련 업무 시스템의 연계, 배출정보 통계기능의 구축, 지리정보 기능 구축, 모바일 지도·점검 지원기능 등을 제언하였다. The purpose of this study is to indicate the problem and its improvement plan derived from pollution discharge industries inspection, implementation process on overall instruction including record management, and utilization of information about emission. This focuses on analyzing the inspection system of pollution discharge industries and the actual condition of management system with survey and interview from the managers. As a result of examining the administration information system from each of structural and practical perspectives, the users were not able to receive support for inspection through the system because it was designed based on licensing. Also according to results of survey and interview, it was difficult to input checkup data and to maintain the information of emission in a sustainable manner. This problem occurs since the current system is not utilized properly. Thus, this study examines similar systems operated in Korea and suggests measure to make improvements. The measures are considered as constructing simple user interface for systematizing of administrative works, simplifying the input matters, linking systems of inspection and emission information, establishing statistical function of emission information, and managing inspection functions through the mobile system.

Purpose: Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) is safe and effective in the treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and venous thromboembolism. Compared with unfractionated heparin (UFH), it is known to have less bleeding tendency in the general population. However, it is not certain whether bleeding complications are decreased by LMWH in patients with renal failure. We postulated that the use of LMWH may lead to increase in bleeding tendency in patients with renal dysfunction. Methods: We conducted a retrospective study in 486 hospitalized patients who were diagnosed as cerebral infarction or ACS, and treated with enoxaparin or nadroparin from January 2008 to December 2009. Bleeding complications were compared in 3 groups according to estimated glomerular filtration rate (GFR 60, 30-59, and <30 mL/min/1.73m ≥ 2). Age, hypertension (HTN), diabetes mellitus (DM), smoking and usage of antithrombotics were examined and the relationship of these variables with bleeding tendency was analyzed. Results: Compared with group I, the frequency of total bleeding complications increased in patients with group II (p=0.002) and III (p=0.005) regardless of adequate dose reduction. Multiple logistic regression analysis after adjustment for age, HTN, DM, and usage of antithrombotics revealed that decreased GFR groups [odds ratio (OR) of group II was 5.79 (95% confidence interval (CI), 1.23-29.97; p=0.042), OR of group III 5.92 (95% CI, 1.22-27.61; p=0.029)] and DM [OR of DM 7.88 (95% CI; 1.46-46.32, p=0.026)] were two independent factors which affect major bleeding. Conclusion: These findings suggest that renal insufficiency, even if it is mild, could affect major bleeding complications in the use of LMWH.

Zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica Steud.) is one of the most popularly cultivated grasses for sports and recreational environments, particularly in warm region. Zoysiagrass has a tardiness of vegetative propagation compared to other turfgrass. Thus farmers and green keepers want to quickly recognize the field information for management. We discuss the design of a Morphologic-Aware Self-Adaptive (MASA) system for zoysiagrass agricultural business. MASA system with image analysis technique is able to rapidly detect grass blade color and length variations caused by changing climate and environment stress. In the future, farmers and green keepers will be able to have smart-farming and smart-management with MASA system.

본 논문에서는 스테레오 카메라를 이용하여 텍스처가 없는(Non-texture) 물체를 인식 할 수 있는 기법을 제안하였다. 텍스처가 없는 물체란 표면에 무늬가 거의 없는 물체를 의미한다. 이러한 물체의 경우에는 텍스처로 부터 물체 인식에 필요한 특징들을 추출하는 기존의 기법들을 적용하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 물체의 색, 크기, 모양 정보를 바탕으로 물체를 인식할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 영상이 입력되면 먼저 미리 학습된 컬러 특징을 이용하여 물체의 후보영역을 설정한다. 그 후 검출된 모든 후보 영역들의 모양 정보와 스테레오 매칭을 통해 계산된 크기 정보를 종합하여 최종 인식 결과를 도출하게 된다. 제안한 방법은 단 하나의 학습 샘플만을 이용하여 필요한 정보들을 학습하며, 실시간으로 텍스처가 없는 물체를 인식 할 수 있게 해준다. 또한 인식된 대상 물체의 3차원 좌표 정보 역시 제공해 준다. In this paper, we propose the method for non-texture object recognition using stereo camera. Non-texture objects mean textureless objects in its surface. Most of existing object recognition techniques are difficult to use to recognize textureless objects because they extract needed features from the texture of the target object surface. To deal with this problem, the proposed method recognizes the non-texture object by using color, size and shape information. First the candidate regions are detected through pretrained color features in the input image. And, for each candidate region, the shape and the size information which is calculated through stereo matching are evaluated to output final recognition results. The proposed method trains features from only one training sample and it can recognize non-texture objects in real time. This method also provides three dimensional location of the recognized object.
