Fixation of radial head fracture with minimally invasive posterior approach remains a significant challenge. The aim of this study was to determine the feasibility of trans-anconeus posterior elbow approach and to observe lateral ulnar collateral ligament (LUCL) in extended elbows. This cadaveric study was performed in twenty upper limbs of fresh fixed adult male cadavers. An oblique incision was made in the middle segment of anconeus until the lateral ligament complex and the joint capsule had been revealed. A deep dissection was explored to observe the anatomical relationship of the LUCL to the anconeus. Measurements of the LUCL were recorded while the elbow was fully extended. The mean distance between the edge of the radial head and the proximal insertion of the LUCL was 13.3 mm (11.5–16.2 mm); the mean distance between the edge of the radial head and the distal insertion of the LUCL was 20.9 mm (19.2–23.4 mm); the distance between the edge of the radial head and the distal edge of the annular ligament was 11.2 mm (8.22–11.7 mm). By estimate correlation of the previous measurements, the direct and accessible way to expose the posterolateral articular capsule of the elbow joint was through a window in medial 2/3 of the middle segment of anconeus muscle. These trans-anconeus approach is useful. It provides good visualization, facilitates applying the implants, and lessens the risk of radial nerve injury. Awareness of the anatomy is mandatory to avoid injury of LUCL.
The Effect of Sc Promoter on the Performance of Co/TiO2–P25 Catalyst in Dry Reforming of Methane
Ahmed Sadeq Al-Fatesh,Muhammad Awais Naeem,Anis Hamza Fakeeha,Ahmed Elhag Abasaeed 대한화학회 2015 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.36 No.8
In the present work, the effect of scandium (Sc) promoter on the performance of Co/TiO2–P25 catalyst in dry reforming of methane has been investigated. The catalysts were prepared by the incipient wet impregnation technique. For each catalyst, the Co loading was fixed at 5 wt %, while the Sc loading was varied from 0.0 to 2.0 wt %. The experiments were carried out at atmospheric pressure in a micro tubular reactor at a temperature of 700 °C. For better understanding and comparison, the catalysts were characterized by various techniques such as Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), X-ray diffraction (XRD), H2-temperature-programmed reduction (TPR), CO2-temperature-programmed desorption (TPD), and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). The results revealed that the promotion of Co/TiO2–P25 catalyst with Sc has a significant impact on its catalytic performance and the amount of carbon deposition. The doping of Co/TiO2–P25 catalyst with Sc improves the basicity and enhances the metal support interaction in the catalyst. At higher Sc loading, Co metal oxidation became substantial that triggered severe catalyst deactivation. Amongst all Sc-promoted catalysts, 0.75 wt % Sc-promoted catalyst exhibited the highest CH4 and CO2 activity with minimum deactivation.

Outbreaks of red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus Olivier, in Pakistan are considered a very serious threat to the date industry, owing to the sudden death of date palm trees. Current integrated management strategy largely depends on insecticides, with negative impacts on the environment. Integration of bio-control strategies incorporating entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) may provide an ecologically safe alternative. In the current study the effectiveness of Metarhizium anisopliae Sorokin against R. ferrugineus was investigated using the immersion method and the effects of this fungus on biological parameters of R. ferrugineus were estimated by age-stage, twosex life table software. After treatment with M. anisopliae isolate (Ma-M 2 ), lethal concentration (LC 50 ) 1.2 × 10 6 spores/mL was determined against R. ferrugineus 3rd instar grubs. M. anisopliae infected grubs showed reduced net reproductive rate R o (75.55) and mean generation time T (113.886 days) and intrinsic rate of increase r (0.03797) compared to the untreated group. Also, adult longevity of males and females were significantly reduced in the M. anisopliae-infected group (F 1 ) as compared to the untreated group. Trans-generational studies revealed that grubs stage duration (69.34 days) and fecundity (181.32 eggs) of the M. anisopliae-infected group (F 1 ) were decreased compared to the untreated group. The use of lasting and adverse effects on the biological parameters of R. ferrugineus, indicate that treatment with EPF may provide an eco-friendly management strategy for this pest.
Distributed Gateway Selection for M2M Communication in Cognitive 5G Networks
Naeem, Muhammad,Ejaz, Waleed,Karim, L.,Ahmed, Syed Hassan,Anpalagan, A.,Jo, Minho,Song, Houbing IEEE 2017 IEEE network Vol.31 No.6

M2M communication is an important component for future wireless networks. M2M systems consist of a large number of devices that can operate with minimum or no human intervention. However, spectrum demand rises exponentially with the increase in the number of connected devices. Cognitive 5G networks are key to address the issue of spectrum scarcity. Further, use of multiple gateways in cognitive 5G networks for M2M communication can increase system throughput, coverage, and energy efficiency. Nevertheless, using multiple gateways for the secondary M2M devices may cause interference to the primary M2M devices. Existing gateway selection protocols for cognitive M2M communication mostly use single channel CSMA, and thus are not efficient in terms of reducing the interference. Thus, in this article, we propose a DGAP based on multi-channel CSMA for M2M communication in 5G networks. Further, we propose a Lo-DGAP, where each gateway transmits only the worst primary M2M device information rather than transmitting all neighboring primary M2M device information. The proposed Lo-DGAP increases the throughput of the system by reducing the message header payload and is also energy-efficient. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed schemes in terms of network lifetime and energy consumption.

This paper proposes the design of anti-windup compensator gain for improving stability of actuator input constrained linear multiple state delays systems. The system state delays are classified into mixed delay-dependent/delay-independent analysis and described by delay-differential equations. The real scalar delays are assumed to be fixed and unknown, but with known coefficient matrices. It is shown that the closed-loop system containing the controller plus the anti-windup gain can be modeled as a linear system with dead-zone nonlinearity. The formulation of anti-windup compensator gain is based on convex optimization using linear matrix inequalities (LMI) that ensure closed-loop asymp-totic stability of the system while accounting upper-bound delays. The devised LMIs based on Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals prove significantly less conservative in giving higher upper bounds delays in the formulation of anti-windup gain besides ensuring closed-loop asymptotic stability.

The Sinjhoro concession is prolific gas-producing block situated on the eastern limb of the Lower Indus Basin in Pakistan. It contains several development and production (D & P) leases, which are producing gas from Cretaceous rocks. The present study aimed to evaluate the structural and petrophysical properties of the Lower Goru Formation using a 2D seismic and well-driven integrated study. A seismic driven time structure map of the Lower Goru Formation was generated, which depicted horst and graben structures oriented predominantly in a NNW-SSE direction. These normal faults are deep seated and potentially provide a vertical primary migration pathway to hydrocarbon flow. A prospective lead of 20 ms was identified in the northwestern portion of the structural map, which could be explored further. Besides this, a RMS amplitude map was generated within the target reservoir level to show the general sand body distribution within the reservoir. Our study revealed that the reservoir quality sands are deposited in the eastern portion of the study area. The identified lead is also located on a fair to good level of sand body which is producing from the well drilled to the south of the prospective area. Additionally, it is strongly recommended to conduct an infill seismic survey over and around the newly identified prospect in order to validate its existence and aerial outspreads. Well correlation, petrophysical data logs (PDLs) and cross-plot techniques were adopted to predict the petrophysical properties of the reservoir level. During the petrophysical study, two prospective zone were identified, with Zone-II showing more promising results for hydrocarbon presence than Zone-I. The present research has shown that integration of seismic attributes with petrophysical calculations can help to identify new prospective leads even in cases where there is less seismic data coverage.
