Interpretation Difference to Ambiguous Information among Individuals with Major Depression

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mind reading ability and the interpretation bias among the individuals with major depression (MD). Previous researches proposed individuals with MD have deficit of mind reading ability, but results are not consistent. This study examined individuals with MD have deficit of mind reading ability and interpretation bias. Twenty-four undergraduate students with MD and non-depressive 33 controls participated in this study. Participants were instructed to infer the protagonists`feelings in the second-order false-belief tasks and the ambiguous situation tasks. The mind reading was scored based on Choi and Ghim (2012, 2013)`s criteria. For the interpretation bias, three researchers rated participants` responses from the tasks as positive, neutral, and negative feelings. The difference between MD group and control group was significant in the interpreatation bias score, but not mind reading score. MD group inferred the protagonists`minds more negatively compared to control group. The results suggest that the interpretation difference in the responses among individuals with MD was due to self-reference emotion processing.

<P>A highly sensitive immunoassay was developed by using antibody-conjugated spherical mesoporous silica with immobilized enzymes. The higher ratio of enzyme/antibody than conventional ELISA improved both the sensitivity and dynamic range. Objective: Jump training helps increase the muscle power by improving the muscle strength and reaction time of the muscle in operation. The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of strengthening, stretching exercise and meditation on electromyographic (EMG) onset timing of rectus femoris and gastrocnemius muscle during vertical jump performance. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Ten healthy adults (5 male and 5 female) who were familiar with the vertical jumping task and had no lower extremity injuries or any bone or joint disorders, were recruited for this study. Muscle onset timing was measured by surface EMG. After EMG onset timing were measured during performing three baseline vertical jump trials, strengthening and stretching exercises of the rectus femoris and gastrocnemius, and meditation were performed in random order. EMG onset timing was measured during vertical jump after intervention, respectively. EMG value was averaged for the three trials and analyzed using one-way repeated ANOVA. Results: During vertical jump, EMG onset timing of gastrocnemius was a significant difference after intervention (p<0.05), and then there was significantly faster in strengthening exercise than meditation (p<0.05). Conclusions: These results indicate the potential positive effect of performing strengthening exercise of the gastrocnemius before a jumping event. Future research is required to identify the effects of intervention over a long period.

To respond to the global climate crisis, the Korean government is proposing the use of a fuel cell system that does not emit additional carbon as a means of reducing greenhouse gas in the building sector. Considering the spread of the residential fuel cell system, it is necessary to review the appropriate capacity and operation of the fuel cell system to reduce building energy. In this study, the capacity design and operation plan of the fuel cell system were reviewed for detached house using the TRNSYS (TRaNsient System Simulation) program. The energy load is divided into cooling, heating, hot water and electricity. It was designed that the cooling load and electric load use electricity, and the heating load and hot water load use heat. As a result of examining the new & renewable energy self-sufficiency rate using the fuel cell system as a variable for the capacity, the 1 kW capacity was 79.1% electricity and 101.6% heat.
