The reaction in tetrahydrofuran of potassium trialkoxyborohydrides with lithium chloride was examined in detail to establish the generality of this synthesis of the corresponding lithium trialkoxyborohydrides and the stability of these lithium derivatives in tetraydrofuran was examined using ?? NMR spectroscopy. For R=i-Pr, the lithium salt is very stable. However, R=s-Bu and t-Bu, with increasing steric requirement, the lithium derivatives are unstable and thus dissociated into (RO)BH₃- and (RO)₄B-. The stereoselectivity of lithium triisopropoxyborohydride (LIPBH) on the reduction of cyclic ketones was investigated and compared with that of the potassium derivative.

1. Salicylic Acid처리에 의해 고추의 녹광, 청홍 두 품종 모두에서 역병의 발병을 감소시켰다. 발병억제 정도가 낮았지만 Salicyclic Acid가 고추에서 병저항성을 유도하는 것으로 나타났다. 2. 지금까지 2개균주, 56과 62 분리균주가 직접 고추에서 저항성을 유도하는 균주로 선발되었다. 3. 분리균주 67과 70의 배양액의 ethyl acetate 추출물이 고추에서 강력한 역병저항성을 유도하였다.
Lithium Thexyl^t butoxyborohydride의 합성과 새로운 환원특성

The new reducing agent, lithium thexyltbutoxyborohydride was prepared from thexyltbutoxyborane and tert-butyllithium. The reaction of organic compounds possessing representative functional groups with this reagent has been investigated in detail so as to estabilish their usefullness as chremo-, regio-, stereoselective reducing agent in organic synthesis. Thus, we have examined the general reducing pattern of this reagent toward general organic functional groups, such as carbonyl compounds, carboxylic acid derivatives, epoxides, etc. Especially, the stereochemistry in the reduction of cyclic ketones has been examined in detail.
都市主婦들의 肥滿實態 및 그에 관련된 要因에 관한 硏究

This study was undertaken to investigate the prevalence of obesity and the factors related to obesity of housewives in Chin-Ju City from January 10 to March 10.1991. In this study, 101 housewives were chosen from Buddhists of Chong Rhim Temple in Chin-Ju. Anthropometry including weight, height, waist, hip were measured and dietary intakes was surveyed by fook frequency method. Informations on the general background were obtained by questionnaires. A amounts of nutrients intake was calculated according to food composition tables. The percentage of body fat was measured by tetrapolar bioelectrical impendance method. The energy expenditrue was measured by calorie counter. Results were summrized as follows: 1. The average age, weight and height of the subjects were 46±8, 57.1±9.0㎏, 155.9±5.8㎝, respectively. Prevalence of obesity was 28.7% and 27.7% by criteria of BMI and RBW as obesity index respectively. 2. General environmental factors that numbers of children, educational levels, stop childbearing age, menarche age, menopause age and marriage age were investigated. The general environmental factors except menarche age and marriage age were not a distinguish difference. The sooner minarche age, the higher BMI. The xooner marriage age, the higher RBW. Therefore, the possibility of obesity was high as menarch or marriage was fast. 3. Average energy intake of subjects wass 2094.3±65.1Kcal/day, average energy expenditure of subjects was 2032.1±344.7Kcal/day and average energy expenditure/body weight was 35.7±5.3Kg/day. Energy expenditure/body weight is decreasing. 4. The serum lipid level of subjects (p<0.01) was a significant difference between level of triglyceride, total-cholesterol and BMI, RBW. The higher BMI and RBW, the higher TG, taotal-cholesterol level and the lower HDL-cholesterol level. 5. Nutrient intake of subjects represented that the higher educational levels, the higher intakes of lipid, vit.B₁,vit.B₂. The sooner marriage age, the olwer intakes of protein,lipid, calcium, vit.B₂, niacin.

The reducing characteristics of diisobutyldiphenylaminoalane (DIBANPh_2) as selective reducing agent in the reduction of carbonyl compounds, have been studie systematically. Aldehydes are smoothly reduced to the corresponding alcohols by BIBANPh_2 i ether solution.

The purpose of this study was to investigate of nutritional status, a intention for dietary improvement and a degree of dietary satisfaction of Buddhist nuns(age 23~43yr). The survey was carried out through physical examination and questionaries at Woon Mun temple in Kyungpook province September through October in 1996. The results are summarized as follows: 1) All nutrients were higher than recommended daily allowances, and the ratios of carbohydrate:protein:lipid from total calories was 76:13:11 respecting. 2) In degree of dietary satisfaction: satisfaction, between, dissatisfaction were 55.47, 36.59, 7.93% of subjects. 3) In intention for dietary improvements: the same way, a little improvements, much improvements were 55.47, 41.46, 3.07%. 4) Diet type were in regular sequence of volume, gourmet, balance, diet, fast food type.
BH₃와 PCC를 이용하여 환원-산화법에 의한 카르복시산 염으로부터 알데히드 합성에 관한 연구

A new convinent conversion of carboxylic acid salts into the corresponding aldehydes by utilizing borane has been devised : the procedure involves the reaction of carboxylic acid salts with borane to form the acyloxyborohydride intermediate, followed by the treatment with dimethyl sulfate to be converted into trialkoxyboroxine. Finally, the boroxine intermediate is converted to aldehydes by oxidation with pyridinium chlorochromate or pyridinium dichromate. The yields of aldehydes by this procedure are very excellent. This method provides one of the most economical procedures reported in the literature.

A new reducing agent, thexylbromoborane-methyl sulfide complex (ThxBHBr.SMe₂), was synthesized from the reaction of tetramethylethylene and monobromoboranemethyl sulfide complex. The reducing characteristics of the reagent to the representative organic compounds have been studied systematically under the standardized conditions (0℃, methylene chloride). Thus, the reagent appeared as a mild selective reducing agent, especially on the partial reduction of carboxylic acids to the corresponding aldehydes.
