The Growing Layer chicks of both sexes were fed the conventional diet contain 0.3% Quartz Porphyry (QP) and water and libitum during 18 days. Amount of feed intake was lower in the 0.3% supplement of QP but body weight gain and feed efficiency were significantly increased by 0.3% QP supplement. The internal organs weight and length were not changed by feeding of 0.3% QP. When feeding of 0.3% QP, fatty acid composition was changed; ration of unsaturated fatty acid was increased. No effects of supplement of 0.3% QP on the crude ash and mineral contents of on the tibia, thigh and breast. These results suggest that supplement of 0.3% dietary QP was improves quality of meat in the growing chicks.

In order to find a suitable type of nanoparticles to improve the heat transfer of nanofluids, the role ofnanoparticles should be elucidated. The nanoparticles are known to affect the heat transfer, and herewe investigated the role of nanoparticles using a nanopipe model system. Specifically, the heat transferphenomena of nanofluids containing hydrophobic (i.e., hydrogenated) and hydrophilic (i.e., carboxylated)functionalized graphene flakes (GFs) were compared. Confined nanopipe (i.e., 325 K) with a diameter of400 Å system were adopted for the heat transfer and coarse-grained molecular dynamics (CGMD) simulationswere performed. In the nanofluids, GF-concentrated layer was formed near the pipe wall, whichinduced the high HTC value of nanofluids. We found that after the thermal change of fluid became constant(i.e., thermally fully developed region), the thermal boundary layer was maintained for 100 Å duethe GF-concentrated layer. The thermal boundary layer and HTC was thicker and higher when using carboxylatedGF, which was more soluble in the coolant.
