Lysophosphatidic acid에 의한 암세포 이동에 미치는 simvastatin의 영향
Lysophsphatidic acid (LPA), a bioactive phospholipid, involves in various cellular events including cancer cell migration. In the present study, I investigated the effect of simvastatin, a widely used statin for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia, on cell motility in various cancer cells such as the breast, prostate, ovary, and liver cancer cells. Simvastatin inhibited the increased motility of MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-435S breast cells induced by LPA. Simvastatin also inhibited the increased motility of CAOV-3 and OVCAR-3 ovary cancer cells. DU-145 prostate cancer cell and SK-Hep1 hepatoma cell which has enhanced cell motility by LPA treatement also suppressed by treatment of simvastatin. In conclusion, this is the first report to show inhibition of LPA-induced cell motility by simvastatin. Simvastatin has a potential can be used as therapeutic agents for cancers related to LPA. However, the molecular mechanism how simvastatin inhibits LPA induced cancer cell motility needs further study.
Performance evaluation of emergency water supply system in Korea
홍재창 KDI School of Public Policy and Management 2018 국내석사
As the importance of safety increases, constructing WSS for crisis response is also becoming important. The purpose of EWSP is to identify the exact situation of interruption when crisis happen such as a pipeline accident, and then to minimize its damage. Nevertheless, EWSP for crisis management on WSS has been analyzing the maintenance result every year with just two indicators, which are 'the Ratio of emergency water supply' and 'the Area of 100% available supply.’ As the result of case study through 10 selected indicators, although it is possible to supply water within the recovery period of, especially 24 hours, we found vulnerability exists in overall operation process. Moreover, the fact that not only the adjustment of supply interruption area but also the restriction of water and the maintenance of appropriate pressure can also have a great impact on risk situation so further research that can be reflected in the evaluation indicator group is also required.
