      • 한국무용이 노인여성의 신체적 자기효능감과 생활만족도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 여성의 무용프로그램참여와 생활만족도의 관계에 대한 선행연구결과를 기초로 관계모형을 설정하고 이를 통하여 노인여성의 한국무용참여가 신체적 자기효능감 및 생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 규명하고 신체적 자기효능감과 생활만족과의 관계를 살펴보는데 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 노인여성 40명을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 각각 20명을 배치하여 12주간 주1회 일일 90분씩 한국무용 프로그램을 실시한 후, Ryckman(1982)이 개발한 신체적 자기효능감 설문지(Physical Self Competence)와 Diener, Emmonson, Larsen, Griffin(1985)이 개발한 생활만족도(The Satisfaction with Life Scale: SWLS)를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 한국무용프로그램 실시 후 나타난 두 집단간의 변화에서 실험집단의 신체적 자기효능감중 “반사능력이 뛰어나다”, “나는 음성이 좋다”, “나는 체격이 좋다”, “다른 사람이 나의 체격에 대해 어떻게 생각할까 고민하지 않는다”에서 요인이 통제집단보다 유의하게 향상되었다. 둘째, 한국무용프로그램에 참여한 실험집단이 평균 5.27로 통제집단의 3.77과 비교해 더 높게 나타나 한국무용 참여가 노인여성의 생활만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 한국무용프로그램에 참여한 실험집단의 신체적 자기효능감과 생활만족도간에는 .0001로서 매우 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 반사능력과 음성요인이 생활만족에 가장 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. The main purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Korean dance program on physical self confidence and life satisfaction in the elder women. The subjects are the Korean dance group(N=20) and control group(N=20). In this study Ryckman(1982)'s Physical Self Confidence and Diener, Emmonson, Larson, and Griffin(1985)'s the Satisfaction with Life Scale(SWLS) were used. To analyze the collected data, correlation analysis, one-way ANOVA, and t-test were used. The results obtained from the data analysis are as follows; First, there is a significant difference in the physical self competence on the experimental groups participated in Korean dance program rather than control groups. (p<.05) Second, there is a significant difference in the satisfaction with life scale on the experimental groups participated in Korean dance program rather than the control groups in literacy writing class. (p<.05) Third, this study showed that there is a correlation between the physical self competence and the satisfaction with life scale in the experimental groups participated in Korean dance program. Especially the subscales of reflexion and voice significantly affected the elder woman's satisfaction with life scale.

      • 무용전공 대학생의 진로지도에 따른 진로의사결정효능감과 진로탐색행동 및 진로결정유형의 관계

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation between career decision-making efficacy, career-seeking behavior and career decision type based on career counseling of the students of choreography major. To fulfill this purpose, seven study problems and assumptive methods are set up to conduct the study the following targets and methods to be applied. First, the subjects of this study were targeted from students of 4-year course of college students of choreography major in Seoul and suburban areas and 600 students were selected by multi-stage stratified cluster sampling upon their economic conditions and residential environment but the data of 527 students were used. Personal Characteristics controlled by this study are such variables as gender, year, major type and performance score, and independent variables were career counseling which were limited such as absence of career counseling, its frequency and type, and career decision-making efficacy as parameter I and career-seeking behavior as parameter II and career decision type as dependent variable. The questionaries were used as tools to analyze the relation the relation between career decision-making efficacy, career-seeking behavior and career decision type based on career counseling of the students of choreography major. CDMSES-SF(Betz, Klein & Taylor, 1996), contraction form of the questionaries developed by Tayloer and Betz, the ones developed by Seo Jinsook(1998) and Kidney(1992) and Assessment of Career Decision Making(ACDM) by Harren(1979) were respectively used for career decision-making self-efficacy. The followings are the findings from the this study through the above method and process applied. 1. Partial differences be shown in demographic personal characteristics set up by background variables in this study between each group of career decision-making efficacy, career-seeking behavior and career decision type. Especially, male groups showed higher by variables than the female ones in gender, and low grader showed higher than high graders in year. 2. Some partial differences were shown in career decision-making efficacy according to the career counseling of the students of choreography major. That is, groups under choice of career counseling showed higher self-evaluation, gathering of vocational information, goal setup, future plan and problem-solving. Meanwhile, in counseling frequency, the group of once-a-month counseling showed higher in self-evaluation, gathering of vocational information, goal setup, future plan and problem-solving. 3. Some partial differences were shown in career-seeking behavior based on the career counseling of the dance major students. That is, groups under choice of career counseling showed higher seeking behavior in career and themselves compared to groups of counseling from the old members. Meanwhile the group of once-a-month counseling showed higher in its frequency. 4. Some partial differences were shown in career decision type based on the career counseling of the dance major students. That is, groups under choice of career counseling showed higher in intuitive and reasonable type, and in counseling type group of senior students and professor showed higher and group of once-a-month counseling showed the same in its frequency. 5. Some partial effects were shown in career decision type based on the career decision-making efficacy of the dance major students. That is, career decision-making efficacy accounts for 33.3% of the whole parameter describing intuitive type as sub parameter of career decision type, and reasonable type 6.1%, and dependent type 25.9% respectively. 6. Some partial effects were shown in career decision type based on the career-seeking behavior of the dance major students. That is, career-seeking behavior accounts for 35.1% of the whole parameter describing intuitive type as sub parameter of career decision type, and reasonable type 14.8%, and dependent type 19.3% respectively. 7. The cause-effect relation were shown in career decision-making efficacy, career-seeking behavior and career decision type of the dance major students. 본 연구의 목적은 무용을 전공하는 대학생들의 진로지도에 따른 진로의사결정효능감과 진로탐색행동 및 진로결정유형의 관계를 규명하는 데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 7개의 구체적인 연구문제와 가설적 모형을 설정하고 다음과 같은 연구대상과 연구방법을 적용하여 연구를 수행하였다. 먼저, 본 연구의 대상은 서울특별시와 수도권 소재 무용전공이 개설되어 있는 4년제 대학교에 재학 중인 학생을 모집단으로 설정한 다음 조사대상 학교가 소재하고 있는 경제조건과 거주환경 등을 고려하여 다단계 유층집락(multi-stage stratified cluster sampling) 방법을 이용하여 600명을 집락표집하였으나 실제 분석에 사용된 자료는 527명이었다. 이 연구에서 통제하고자 하는 개인 특성변인은 성별, 학년, 전공유형, 공연실적 4개 변인이며, 독립변인은 진로지도로써 진로상담유무와 상담빈도 그리고 상담유형 등의 3개 변인으로 제한하였으며, 매개변인I은 진로의사결정효능감과 매개변인II는 진로탐색행동으로 설정하였으며, 마지막으로 종속변인은 진로결정유형을 설정하였다. 무용전공 대학생의 진로지도에 따른 진로의사결정효능감과 진로탐색행동 및 진로결정유형의 관계를 분석을 위하여 사용된 도구는 설문지로써, 진로의사결정효능감은 Taylor와 Betz(1983)가 개발한 CareerDecision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale(CDMSES)의 단축형인CDMSES-SF(Betz,Klein,& Taylor,1996) 검사지와 서진숙(1998)과 Kidney(1992) 등이 개발한 설문지, Harren(1979)이 개발한 진로의사결정 검사(Assessment of Career Decision Making: ACDM) 등을 사용하였다. 이상의 연구방법과 절차를 적용하여 본 연구에서는 결과를 도출하였으며, 그 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 이 연구에서 배경변인으로 설정한 인구통계학적 특성변인에 따른 진로의사결정효능감과 진로탐색행동 그리고 진로결정유형에 있어서 각 집단 간에 부분적으로 차이가 있었다. 2. 무용전공 대학생의 진로지도에 따른 진로의사결정효능감은 부분적으로 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 3. 무용전공 대학생의 진로지도에 따른 진로탐색행동은 부분적으로 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 4. 무용전공 대학생의 진로지도에 따른 진로결정유형은 부분적으로 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 5. 무용전공 대학생의 진로의사결정효능감은 진로결정유형에 부분적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 6. 무용전공 대학생의 진로탐색행동은 진로결정유형에 부분적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 7. 무용전공 대학생의 진로지도에 따른 진로의사결정효능감과 진로탐색행동 및 진로결정유형에는 인과적 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

      • Reading ordinariness through a TV program featuring foreign residents in Korea : an audience study of KBS 1's My Neighbor, Charles

        As the population of foreign residents grows, the number of foreigners appearing on Korean television programs is also increasing. The genre of programs that feature foreigners is diversifying, as well. Despite the continual expansion, programs have shown the limited interaction between foreigners and Koreans in everyday life. Rather, foreign residents have been represented in different reality, being separated from the normal Korean society, deprived of commonness. Because media constructs reality, such representation reinforces existing stereotypes which often leads to rationalization of the structural problems that cause individual, institutional, and political inequality and discrimination toward foreign residents in Korea. The primary purpose of the thesis is to explore the implications of audience discourse regarding the representation of ordinariness of foreign residents and see if such change has a distinct point from the previous traditional ideology where foreign residents were separately represented from the mainstream society, or whether it simply reproduces the discriminative ideology. Taking a form of explorative research, the study carried out FGIs and in-depth interviews with the episodes from KBS1’s My Neighbor, Charles, focusing on the episodes that depict ordinariness and daily lives of foreign residents as the main text. It was concluded that the representation of ordinariness and the interaction between Koreans and foreign residents did not produce different or counter-discourse, with audiences reading the episodes of MNC within the boundaries of internalized stereotypes and social exclusion. Audiences interpreted multicultural society under the influence of subtle prejudice. They were not yet familiar with the representation, calling it “ideal,” or apart from real life. Also, audiences considered foreign residents as potential competitors in the job market who locate to advantageous positions rather than a group who exist in the site of social struggles. This finding implies that, while criticizing the polarized representation of Korean media and the customs of Korean society in a way to recognize political correctness, audiences consciously and unconsciously strive to maintain the homogeneity and nationalism of Korean society by locating foreigners outside of the Korean society, rather than imagining the life with foreigners in harmony.

      • (A) study on the in-service English teachers' perceptions on multicultural education and the implications on the multicultural teacher education

        With the increase and diversification of immigrants in Korea, multicultural policies, including educational policies, have been expanded to meet diverse demands and needs. Accordingly, multicultural education has become an essential issue for Korean society. However, Korea's government-led change has been criticized for its ambiguous direction while failing to keep up with the pace of change in society. The primary purpose of the study is to explore Korea's multicultural education by analyzing how Korean high school English teachers perceive multicultural education and what implication the perception has on the current system and operations of multicultural education. More specifically, the study explores the limitations and possibilities of multicultural education in the Korean educational scene by interviewing ten in-service English teachers working at high schools in Seoul metropolitan region. Ultimately, the study aims to provide direction to future multicultural teacher education for all teachers. The conclusions drawn from the study are as follows. The English teachers showed a poor understanding of multicultural education and even misunderstood the purpose and goal of the education. Consequently, the teachers were not aware of the importance of multicultural education, which affected their implementation and delivery of multicultural education. More specifically, teachers were confused between multicultural education with other types of global education. They have viewed multicultural education as a mere introduction of various cultures. Second, the teachers did not believe multicultural education is for everyone, limiting the subject of multicultural education to multicultural members, mainly the students from multicultural families. They showed an assimilative attitude claiming that multicultural members adapting to Korean society is needed to enhance their quality of life, considering reality. Although teachers did recognize the need for education on diversity and discrimination, they perceived it as a matter of the future, not as an education needed right at the moment. They have maintained their stance that multicultural education for multicultural members is more urgent. Thirdly, teachers recognized multicultural education and subject education course as separate education. Teachers did not realize that English classes can be conducted by linking and integrating English education with multicultural education. Because the teachers saw multicultural education as apart from the subject education, they thought multicultural education does not fit the current education system, where grades and evaluation are taken very sensitively. Lastly, although teachers were not particularly against multicultural education, they were skeptical about actually implementing multicultural education. They argued that theory-based education does not appeal to teachers who usually prefer hands-on pedagogies. Also, the teachers regarded multicultural education as another task on top of the already heavy workload. Moreover, teachers once again confirmed their belief on the unnecessariness and unprofessionalism of multicultural education through a school's unilateral work distribution without providing proper education for the teacher in charge or verification of qualification of the teachers in charge. The findings imply that teachers' vague understanding of multicultural education and absence of systematic and practical multicultural teacher education under biased education policies and guidelines led to confusion and indifference toward multicultural education, unconsciously reinforcing misunderstanding, stereotypes, and institutional discrimination at schools. Overall teachers’ perception indicates that the current teacher education system and operation failed to fully convey the need and importance of multicultural education.
