대안학교의 실태분석을 통한 개선방안 연구 : 학력인정 대안 고등학교를 중심으로 = (A) study on the present situations of alternative schools

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The young people in Korea are not even in the position to learn the basic humanities, or even lose the directions in their lives. Because they have no opportunities to develop their potential capabilities. That is to say, the educational institutions of Korea don't play enough in their role. So this thesis tries to find the answer in the alternative schools to solve these problems. Therefore the purpose of this study is to analyze the present situations of alternative schools and to find the ideal ways of them.
The research questions to be answered in this study are as follows: First, what are the educational philosophy and educational aims which alternative schools pursue? Second, what is the educational contents to bring up the ideal man? Third, what are the characteristics of teaching method and assessment of alternative schools? Fourth, what are the problem of alternative schools and how to overcome?
The results of research are as follows : First, the alternative schools try to consider that man must be creative and self-controled, and respect each person's personality and character. Second, the alternative schools want to do self-controled education, community-based education and whole-man education. Third, the kinds of education in alternative schools are based on labor experiences and service activities.
However, several problems in such alternative schools are as follows : First, a curriculum of alternative schools is not specialized and lacking of the number of teachers who can teach it. Second, educational finance of alternative schools is very poor condition. Third, there are not enough research and efforts to create variety of teaching method suitable for alternative schools.
Some ideal ways to solve the problems of alternative schools and how to overcome are as follows : First, an organized training system of teacher should make for alternative schools. Second, the government should apply finance for alternative schools and it will be continued. Third, a curriculum for professional education should be developed. Fourth, the alternative schools should play its role as the cultural center of the local community.
Finally, alternative educations are necessary in the post-industrial society in Korea. Alternative schools are an attempt to offer education that can overcome the limits of institutional schools. So I think that we have to develop the alternative schools system.
