1) Interviewed older people about leisure activities
: older people-self development activities
: religious activities(church) and family concentration and participation
: social interaction with other people
: sports-especially climbing and jogging
: reading activities (newspapers and magazines)
2) Leisure activities bring about the following positive results.
: passes time which would otherwise be boring
: interaction with friends and neighbours increases and is maintained
: the mind is stimulated and relaxed. They also feel comfortable within themselves.
: they exercise when they have the opportunity which means they enjoy better health.
: those that do not participate, do not, because of money, health, age and related issues.
3) Leisure participation differences between the sexes showed the following:
: In later life, men were better participants than women
: In most cases educational levels for men were higher
: The men were younger
: Their quality of life was higher
: Their health was also better
: Married people participated more than single people
: Monthly income was higher as well
4) According to this the life satisfaction of people showed that men were better off than women.

: most were married (participated more)
: income was higher
It was found that if the life satisfaction of an older person was high, the person's mental ability was high as well.
5) According to the results, between life satisfaction and leisure activities, the following was evident:
· taking the following into account:
a) self development activities
b) family participation in activities
c) religious activities
f) sports/leisure activities
g) reading activities
d) interaction with others in society
e) economic ties
It was found that if these factors were high (life satisfaction)-the better the lives of the people.
Participation in leisure activities was directly influenced by the life satisfaction experienced by the person.
