      본 연구는 탈북자들의 가치관, 라이프스타일, 귀인양식, 고정관념을 중심으로 심리적 특성과 남한사람들과의 비교를 통해 차이점을 살펴보고, 심리적 소외감과 삶의 질에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위한 것이었다. 남한사람 143명, 탈북자 99명을 대상으로 가치관, 라이프스타일, 귀인양식, 고정관념, 소외감, 삶의 질에 대하여 설문조사를 실시하였다.
      연구결과, 가치관에서는 탈북자들은 남한사람들에 비해 '개인이나 가족'보다는 '나라'를, '출세'보다는 '부모봉양'을, '직능구분'보다는 '상하구별'을, '시정'보다는 '인내'를, '실력'보다는 '겸손'을, 처음 보는 사람에 대해서 '친절'보다는 '경계'를, '정조를 지키지 않아도 된다'보다는 '지켜야 한다'를, '친정'보다는 '시댁을 더 많이 생각해야 한다'를, 인생을 잘사는 것은 '풍부하게 사는 것'보다 '깨끗이 사는 것'이 더 중요하다고 생각했다. 라이프스타일에서는 탈북자들이 남한사람들에 비해 '전통적 가족주의', '전통적 집단주의', '사회의식', '전통위계의식'에서 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 반면, 문화적 개방성, 능력과 역할주의에서는 남한사람들이 탈북자보다 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 귀인양식에서는 탈북자들이 남한사람에 비해 내외귀인항목에서 내적귀인이, 일관성 항목에서는 일시성보다는 항상 일어날 것이라고 귀인하는 경향이, 특수상황 항목에서는 오직 이 상황에만 영향을 미친다고 생각하기보다는 모든 면에서 영향을 미친다고 생각하는 경향이 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 고정관념에서는 남한사람들은 탈북자들에 대해 반항적, 비판적, 이기적, 경쟁적으로 지각하는 등 탈북자 스스로가 평가한 특성보다 더 부정적으로 지각하고 있었다. 소외감의 경우 탈북자들의 소외영역에서는 일로 부터의 소외감이 가장 높았으며, 그 다음이 사회제도, 인간관계, 가정, 자신으로부터의 소외 순이었다. 탈북자들이 가장 느끼는 소외유형은 무력감, 극단적 모험성, 허무주의, 의욕상실 순이었다. 탈북자들의 욕구충족도 면에서는 행복한 삶을 사는데 가장 중요한 것으로 행복한 가정생활, 삶에서 보람을 느끼는 것, 일에서 보람을 느끼는 것, 돈독한 우정, 경제적으로 여유있게 사는 것 등의 순이었다. 주관적 삶의 질과 생활의 만족도 면에서 탈북자들은 남한사람에 비해 모두 유의하게 낮게 나타났다.
      탈북자들의 소외감에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴본 결과, 가치관에서는 '풍요로운 생활'이, 라이프스타일에서는 '문화개방성'이, 귀인양식에서는 내적귀인이 각각 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 소외감에 가장 영향을 미치는 요인은 '내외귀인', '문화개방성', '풍요로운 생활' 순이었다. 탈북자들의 삶의 질에 가장 영향을 미치는 요인은 부부관계, 친구관계 순이었으며, 기혼자들의 경우에는 자녀관계가 가장 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 소외감과 탈북자들의 삶의 질의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 소외영역에서는 가정으로부터의 소외, 인간관계로부터의 소외 순으로, 소외유형에서는 허무주의가 탈북자들의 삶의 질에 가장 영향을 미쳤다. 특히 소외감 많이 느끼는 집단일수록 삶의 질이 유의하게 낮았다.
      본 연구에 나타난 남한사람과 탈북자들의 심리적 특성을 비교하여 논의하고 탈북자들의 소외감과 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대해 논의하였다. 본 연구의 제한점 및 후속연구에 대해 제안하였다.

      The goal of this study was to investigate factors influencing North Korea defectors's psychological alienation and their quality of life by comparing South Koreans and North Korean defectors in the sense of values, lifestyles, attribution style and stereotype. To pursue this goal, a questionnaire was distributed to 143 South Koreans and 99 North Korean defectors.
      According to results, in comparison with South Koreans, North Korean defectors placed more values on 'nation' than 'individual or family', on the 'support of parents' than 'a great success', on 'distinction of social standing' than 'functional classification', on 'patience' than 'correction', and on 'modesty' than 'ability'. In association with strangers, North Korea defectors selected 'caution' rather than 'kindness', 'have to keep chastity' rather than 'do not care to keep chastity', and consider 'the house of their husbands' rather than 'the home of their birth'. In order to live the life well, they considered more important 'live a clear life' than 'live a fluent life'.
      In the lifestyles, the North Korean defectors than South Koreans put higher significance in 'traditional familism', 'traditional collectivism', 'social consciousness', and 'traditional hierarchy'. On the other hand, cultural openness, capacity, and functionalism were more significant for South Koreans than for the North Korean defectors. As for the attribution style, North Korean defectors tended to be more internal, so more situation-specific, and undifferentiated across general others.
      As for stereotypes, South Korean people considered the North Korean defectors defiant, critical, egoistic, and competitive people. Also, South Koreans perceived North Korean defectors as more negatively than North Korean defectors did themselves. In case of alienation, North Korean defectors reported that their workplace was the most common place where they were alienated. Also, social system, human relations, and home place were involved in their alienation. In these cases, North Korean defectors felt helplessness, critical dangerousness, nihilism, and the loss of will in order.
      As for the North Korean defectors' gratification of human needs, the most important things to run happy life were happy home life, to feel worthy of their life, to feel worthy of their work, sincere friendship, and to live in economically comfortable ways in order. In sides of subjective quality of life and the satisfaction of life, all the North Korean defectors had lower significance then the South Korean people.
      As a result of investigating factors investigating the North Korea defectors' alienation, it showed that 'affluent life' in their values, 'cultural openness' in the lifestyles, and 'inside attribution' in the attribution style were critical. There were conjugal relations and friendship relations in order as factors affecting the North Korean defectors' quality of life. As a result of examining the relations between North Korean defectors' alienation and quality of life, the field of alienation made influences on the alienation at the domestic situation and in human relations. As for the alienation type, the nihilism made an effect on the North Korean defectors' quality of life most. In particular, the more the group felt the alienation, the lower the quality of life was significantly.
      This research discussed and compared with the South Koreans and the North Korean defectors' psychological characteristics. And it discussed North Korean defectors' alienation and the factor affecting the quality of life. Also, it discussed limitations of the present study and the research required in the future.
