In the present paper the Korean reunification is compared to a marriage, and the understanding of the characteristics of South Koreans, North Koreans and the reunified society, the three components of the Korean reunification, is emphasized for the successful reunification. The Korean reunification, if follows the German case, means that South Koreans from the open capitalistic society and North Korean from the closed socialistic society will live together in an open capitalistic society. The reunification, as seen in the German example, is expected to accompany adaptation problems to the new society, and conflicts between South and North Koreans, In order to achieve a really successful reunification, which not only includes the political unification but also brings improvement upon the quality of each individual's life, we should start making psychological preparations for the reunification in advance. They include: the cultivation of the adaptability to the reunified society, the homogenization of the South and North Korean minds, the establishment of the principle of sharing, and the adoption of the extended cost-benefit analysis approach to the reunification.
