The purpose of this study is to sub-divide the affecting factors of social worker burnout into personal, work-character, organizational-character factors and to seek to find a prevention and also measures against the burnout.
The subjects of this study are the 235 social workers in welfare center located in Taegu, Kyongsangbukdo cities.
The results from the study are the followings.
First, welfare center worker reported high levels of burnout.
Second, on the analysis of the relationship between the burnout level and personal factor significant differences depersonalization of client and lack of personal accomplishment.
Third, on the analysis of the relationship among work-character factor and emotional exhaustion, depersonalization of client is positively correlated and lack of personal accomplishment is negatively correlated.
Fourth, on the analysis of the relationship among organizational-character factor and emotional exhaustion, depersonalization of client is positively correlated.
Fifth, the resulted of the enter multiple regression analysis suggested that workload, communication system, sex, and reward system explained 31.9 percent of full-burnout. Workload, role conflict, and communication system explained 38.4 percent of emotional exhaustion. Communication system, role conflict and role ambiguity explained 31.5 percent of depersonalization of client. Role ambiguity, reward system, role conflict and autonomy explained 50.5 percent of lack of personal accomplishment.
Finally, burnout among welfare center workers can be influenced by their work-character factor and organizational-character factor. Therefore, we need to information system construction thought work-computerization, systematic job analysis must consist, various fairly reword system and communication system construction, efficient staff-development-system to prevent welfare center workers' burnout.
