If we say that dance art is the expression which is intensified with inspiration and enthusiasm felt through life experience, dances have been mixed with every side of our life much more then any other arts.
Although this dance art has been developed according as the age is passed with variability, until recently our folk dances have been spreaded and developed continuously. Among them, Salpuri dances, as a form of life, are the dance t o sublimate regrets and enthusiasm artistically, which are inherited from generation t o generation with the Koreans' representative sentiments.
So, these characteristics which are handed down play a key role to express and to explicate the aspects of an aesthetic sense of the Koreans. From these viewpoints, We can have a feeling that it is necessary for theoretical systematism to be explicated independently of simple performances.
Salpuri dances, which are first named in 1936 and created as a part of dance works, can be classified into Han Young Sook-style and Yi Mae Bang-style salpuri to dance as the art of kisaeng's house in Honam districts.
Whatever any dance we can dance, the balance of body in dance is very important because it is led by dances. After dancing these dances(Han's Salpuri and Yi's Salpuri), I who am a writer in this paper can compare these dance with two types.
Han Young Sook-style salpuri dances represent dance motions which have relatively complex, simple and clear including emotional control. Yi Mae Bang-style salpuri dances show dance motions which have some comparative complex and strong aspects of emotion. It is said that dances can be felt real taste when it is shows something naturally and vivid feeling freely.
Whatever any dance we can dance, we have to grow our ability to understand and to master the traits of dances. We, dancers, realize that dances which is our valuable traditional cultural inheritance is given as our duty.
