The present study was designed (1)to diagnose the organizational climate of schools, (2)to diagnos the level of teachers' job stress, and (3)to analyze the relationship between the level of teachers' job stress and the organizational climate of schools.
500 elementary school teachers in Chung-Nam Province and Tae-Jeon City area served as research subjects for this study.
The korean Version of Organization Climate Description Questionaire(QCDQ-KOR) was employed to diagnose the organizational climate of school and the Wilson
Stress Profile for Teachers(WSP) was employed to measure the level of teachers' job stess, respectively.
The data mene analyzed by first finding the mean scores of each group and then Chi-square, t-Test, and F-test were used for determining the statistical signicance.
The results of the present study were as follows :
(1) There has been shown a significant difference in the organizational climate depending upon the school size.
(2) There has been shown a significant difference in the level of job stress of the elementary school teachers as compared to the average level of job stress.
(3) There has been shown a significant difference in the level of the elementary school teachers' job stress in terms of the location of schools.
(4) There has been observed higher level of job stress in the closed school climate than in the open school climate.
