學校長의 指導性 類型과 敎師의 職務 스트레스와의 關係

This study was attempted to identify the relationship between principal's leadership and teacher's job stresses centering primary and secondary schools. This study also attempted to obtain a positive material which is a help to improvement of understanding and practice in school management, and remove teacher's job stresses, and so offer some suggestions to education.
Concrete aids of this study are as follows:
1. make a diagnosis of prinicipal's leadership styles.
2. make a diagnosis relationship between teacher's job stresses and background variables; sex, position, experience, level of school, place of school, establisher, site of school.
3. make a diagnosis relationship between principal' leadership style and teachers' job stresses.
Method of this study is based on technique and survey of a questionnarie. To ask a question of principal's leadership styles, this study used LBDQ(Leaders Behavior Description Questionnaire) of Hemphill and Coons, and to measure teachers' job stresses, this study used Kyriacou and Sutcliffe's study and Truth's study( professor Kim, jeong-whee adapted and reorganized the questions through individual interview), and my academic advisor helped me to apply them.
The object of investigation were teachers of primary and secondary schools in Daejeon city and Chung-nam province. The number of questionnaire withdrawn and treated is 500(The rate of withdrawl;92%). Gethered materials were computerized by using Spss/pc+.
The results clarified in this study are as follows:
The first, in the result of the level diagnosis of teachers' job stresses, of 6 background variables, classified by position, experience of teachers and size of school were very significant, but sex of teachers, level of school, place of school, establisher are not.
The second, according to the result of analysis of relationship between principal's leadership style and teachers' job stresses, powerless style was most stressed, and task style, efficiency style, human style, in turn.
The third, analysis of relationship between principal's leadership style and teachers' job stresses is that leaderships of powerless style and task style were most stressful to teachers, and human style and efficiency style were less stressful; to reduce teachers' job stresses and make them prideful in their job, principals should administer the affairs of school not by bureaucratic authoritarianism or ostentatiousness but by human concern based on the harmony among men.
The fourth, principals should recognize the fact that democratization of educational administration and school education, human teachers' job place, and enlargement of satisfaction are helped to mitigation and prevention of teachers' job stresses.
The fifth, heavy and lasting job stresses exert a bad influence upon a physical, psychological behavior, and so it's acutely needed to reduce teachers' job stresses.
