This paper is on developing up-cycle hair accessory by applying hair art technique. Applying concept of up-cycle in the field of hair design is in accord with the purpose of 'sustainability development/SD,' becoming global topic now and suitable for minimizing the sense of difference. Nevertheless, we think that academic study of up-cycle on hair beauty is not theoretically organized, compared to active study of other fields. Therefore, the researcher decides that there is a need for study, analyzes the traditional manufacturing technique of hair art, and organizes the terms and consequent concepts. It is to make a systematic and theoretical establishment in the hair art technique by that, and it proves empirically via built theoretical establishment. For theoretical method of study, it finds out hair art in terms of aesthetic viewpoints up to now from environmental view, and for empirical method of study, it classifies by presentation technique and technology trend, deducted from the precedent study and analyzes it in accordance with time sequential flow. In addition, researcher assorts it as total of eleven items; blending and spraying, combing and spreading, unfolding and collecting, sewing, tying, drying and hardening, compressing, winding, wrapping, bending, mixing and blending, based on operational continuity and artistic connection among presentation techniques via stated above analysis of precedent study. We have suggested manufacturing technique of up-cycle hair art design through the deducted technique, and there is a difficulty in manufacturing the desired works for using each manufacturing technique exclusively when producing design work of up-cycle hair art using scrap hair. Based on primary techniques, it produced works of manufacturing technique as minimum form of hybrid. The result of study is as follows; as a result of analyzing technology trend by presentation technique in the precedent study related to traditional hair art, it could confirm that there are feather, mask, natural object, marble, timber, soil, metal, and paper, etc. including scrap hair, for used materials in hair art. Also, it was mainstream to have formative forms among various objets such as metal, mask, feather, timber, mirror, alginate, paper, acrylic, metal, and waste, etc. in the early hair art, and it checked that flow of change is formed for formative forms to have practicality like hair picturesque forms which applied scrap to canvas and accessory, as it passes back. In particular, we have analyzed that frequency of use in presentation technique such as cutting, combing, dyeing, winding, blending, spraying, attaching, bending, twisting, braiding, spreading, stacking, drawing, tying, and wrapping is the highest, as scrap hair is utilized as main material. By analyzing the stated-above precedent study, it assorts again as eleven techniques; blending and spraying, combing and spreading, unfolding and collecting, sewing, tying, drying and hardening, compressing, winding, wrapping, bending, mixing and blending, focused on operational continuity and artistic connection among presentation techniques in this study, and suggests the manufacturing technique of up-cycle hair art design. With suggested techniques, it has produced twenty works in total; three works using unfolding and collecting technique, four works combing and spreading technique, four works blending and spraying technique, a work sewing technique, a work mixing and blending technique, two works winding technique, two works tying technique, two works mixing and blending technique, and a work blending, spraying and combing, spreading technique. It made possible up-cycle hair art design to be established smooth technique to everybody for hair art, known to hairdressers but unexplored field for the general public via deducted technique respectively in the results of study. Moreover, it can enhance added value so that real sale was done by way of producing from producing props via small and simple technique to large and difficult producing props. This can expand the field for art design of up-cycle hair and propose the production guideline for craft technique and work which can be applicable and usable to real life, so we think that it can contribute to expand the base in the fields of up-cycle design using scrap hair.
