그림책을 활용한 감사교육이 유아의 감사성향과 행복감에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to examine influences of gratitude education using picture book on children’s gratitude disposition and their happiness as well proposes an instructional method of children’s Gratitude education which could be applied to an actual scene of early childhood education.
To achieve this purpose, the following research questions are established.
Research Question 1. How would gratitude education using picture book affect children’s gratitude disposition?
Research Question 2. How would gratitude education using picture book affect children’s happiness?
A total of 40 children (20 for an experimental group and 20 for a control group) at the age of five who attend N childcare center and P childcare center located in Seoul were selected as research subjects. The average ages of children in the experimental and control groups were 75.40 and 75.95 months old which made the two groups homogeneous.
On this study, Following tools were used for the pre and post test: In order to test young children’s gratitude disposition, ‘young children’s gratitude disposition inventory' developed by Lee Si-eun(2015) was used. and In order to test young children’s happiness, ‘the happiness test’, developed by Lee Jeong-hwa(2005) and modified by Kim Do-ran(2008) according to young children’s level, was used.
In terms of how to conduct experiments, in case of the experimental group, the children joined a total of 15 sessions for five weeks from October 12 of 2015 to November 13. As for children in the experimental group, they participated in gratitude education using picture book. In case of control group, they participated in life topic education activity based on Nuri curriculum targeting the five-year-old.
To examine the effects of Gratitude education using picture book on the young children’s gratitude disposition and happiness, identical tests were conducted before and after the activity to test young children’s gratitude disposition and happiness. The results were statistically interpreted using an independent sample t-test via SPSS 23.0.
Findings of the research are summarized as follows.
First, Gratitude education using picture book has a positive influence on young children’s gratitude disposition.
Second, Gratitude education using picture book has a positive influence on young children’s happiness.
In conclusion, the results indicate that Gratitude education using picture book is a suitable instructional method for enhancing young children’s gratitude disposition and happiness.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 그림책을 활용한 감사교육이 유아의 감사성향과 행복감에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 유아교육현장에서 활용 가능한 유아 감사교육의 교수방법을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다.
본 연구의 목적을 위해 선정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
연구문제 1. 그림책을 활용한 감사교육이 유아의 감사성향에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
연구문제 2. 그림책을 활용한 감사교육이 유아의 행복감에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
본 연구의 대상은 서울시에 위치한 N어린이집, P어린이집에 재원중인 만 5세 유아 40명(실험집단 20명, 통제집단 20명)이다. 연구 대상의 평균 월령은 실험집단의 경우 75.40개월, 통제집단의 경우 75.95개월로 두 집단은 동질집단으로 구성되었다.
본 연구에서 사전검사와 사후검사 도구는 유아의 감사성향을 측정하기 위하여 이시은(2015)이 개발한 유아 감사성향 검사 도구를 사용하였고, 유아의 행복감을 측정하기 위하여 이정화(2005)가 개발한 행복감 측정 도구를 김도란(2008)이 유아 수준에 적합한 수준으로 수정한 것을 사용하였다.
실험 처치는 실험집단의 경우 2015년 10월 12일부터 2015년 11월 13일까지 5주 동안 총 15회기에 걸쳐 실시하였다. 실험집단의 유아들에게는 감사와 관련된 그림책을 활용하여 감사교육을 실시하였다. 통제 집단의 경우 동일한 기간 동안 실험 처치 없이 5세 누리과정에 기초한 생활 주제 교육활동이 이루어졌다.
실험 처치 후 그림책을 활용한 감사교육이 유아의 감사성향과 행복감에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 실험집단과 통제집단 유아들을 대상으로 사후 감사성향 검사, 행복감 검사를 실시하였다. 유아의 감사성향과 행복감의 사전점사와 사후점사 검수는 SPSS Statistics 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 독립표본 t-검정을 실시하여 본 실험의 효과 차이를 알아보았다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 그림책을 활용한 감사교육을 실시하는 것이 유아의 감사성향 증진에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 그림책을 활용한 감사교육을 실시하는 것이 아의 행복감 증진에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구결과를 통해 그림책을 활용한 감사교육이 유아의 감사성향과 행복감을 증진시키는데 효과적인 교수 방법임을 확인할 수 있었다.
