This study investigated the effects of customer satisfaction with arts education programs on customer trust and loyalty for arts organizations, dealing with complex cultural spaces that are drawing public attention as base organizations that interconnect regions and citizens by providing opportunities to consume various genres of culture and art at one place.
Continuous audience development is an indispensable requisite of arts organizations in fulfilling their role given the current situation in which public interest for culture and arts is dramatically increasing due to the expansion of leisure time and development of consumption culture. It is also extremely important to find ways to develop arts education programs in order to prepare the groundwork for lasting audience-support base. Hence, classifying customer satisfaction with arts education programs into four dimensions, the present study conducted a focused investigation on how these customer satisfaction with arts education programs influence customers' trust and loyalty for arts organization. In order to meet the goal of this study, investigation items were selected after reviewing previous researches and the survey questions were composed through empirical analysis. Data were then collected from survey with arts education program participants at Chungmu Art Hall and Seongnam Arts Center.
Summarized findings from the empirical analysis are as follows:
First, it was found that customers' educational satisfaction with arts education programs at complex cultural spaces has an effect on customer trust and loyalty for arts organizations.
Second, it was found that customers' psychological satisfaction with arts education programs at complex cultural spaces has an effect on customer trust and loyalty for arts organizations.
Third, it was found that customers' social satisfaction with arts education programs at complex cultural spaces has an effect on customer trust and loyalty for arts organizations.
Fourth, it was found that customers' physical satisfaction with arts education programs at complex cultural spaces has an effect on customer trust and loyalty for arts organizations.
Fifth, customers' trust for arts organizations has an effect on their loyalty for arts organizations.
The following implications and proposals were drawn from the above analysis findings.
First, complex cultural spaces should have an accurate understanding of arts education programs and establish strategies for the implementation of these programs.
Second, in order to heighten customer trust for arts organizations, complex cultural spaces should map out plans to improve customers' educational satisfaction with arts education programs.
Third, in order to heighten customer loyalty for arts organizations, complex cultural spaces should map out plans to improve customers' educational satisfaction with arts education programs.
Fourth, in order to heighten customer loyalty for arts organizations, complex cultural spaces should map out plans to improve customer trust for arts organizations.
Fifth, complex cultural spaces should conduct an in-depth analysis and research on customer satisfaction with arts education programs that influence the trust and loyalty for arts organizations. In particular, the needs of arts education program participants should be identified and systematically introduced in the real education field. To this end, complex cultural spaces should to make continuous efforts.
This study was aimed at suggesting plans to improve customer trust and loyalty for arts organizations through survey of customer satisfaction with arts education programs at complex cultural spaces. Beyond the range of concept covering the enjoyment of culture and arts and the attempts to create art, complex cultural spaces can function as places for the improvement of life satisfaction and the recovery of humanity. In addition, since audience is essential for the existence of arts organizations, audience development is sustainable through effective management of arts education programs. In this regard, findings from this study will serve as preliminary data that enable complex cultural spaces the opportunity to search for arts education programs and also help plan and develop new programs. It is also believed that the results from this study will contribute to improving customer satisfaction with arts education programs and to establishing revitalizing strategies for arts education programs for the improvement of customer trust and loyalty for arts organizations.
