The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of depreesion and anxiety on the relation between perceived parenting behaviors and internet addiction in middle school students. For this study, self-reports data were collected from 1092 students in Pusan metro city for parenting behaviors, internet addiction, depreesion and anxiety. Correlation analysis and Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) were employed to examine the hypothesis. Results of this study were as follows. First, parenting behaviors were nagatively correlated with depression, anxiety and internet addiction were found. Second, depression and anxiety was positively correlated with internet addiction were found. Third, the results of structural equation model showt that parental behavior did not directly affect to internet addiction, While depression and anxiety did indirectly affect to internet addiction. Additionally, mediating effects size of maternal behavior and internet addiction was larger than paternal behavior. Based on the results, findings and implications were discussed.
