중학교 인권교육의 효과에 대한 사례 연구 = A Case Study on the Effects of Middle School Human Rights Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중학교 인권교육의 효과에 대한 사례 연구를 목적으로 하였다. 이론적 배경으로는 인권, 인권교육, 학교 인권교육의 기본 방향, 중학교 인권교육 프로그램에 관해 제시하였고 연구방법으로는 경상남도 김해시의 W중학교 2, 3학년 여학생 여섯 개 반, 남학생 여섯 개 반을 표집 대상으로 하였으며 친구와의 어울림정도, 학교생활의 즐거움 여부, 학교성적을 배경변인으로 하여 설문 조사하였다.
본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 구체적인 연구 문제는 다음과 같이 설정하였다.
첫째, 학교에서의 인권교육 프로그램에 대한 W중학교 학생들의 평가는 어떠한가?
둘째, 학교에서의 인권교육을 통해 W중학교 학생들의 인권 의식은 어떻게 변화되었는가?
셋째, 학교에서의 인권교육을 통해 W중학교 학생들의 인권존중 태도는 어떻게 변화되었는가?
본 연구에서는 이 질문에 대한 응답을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.
첫째, 학교에서의 인권교육 프로그램에 대해 W중학교 학생들은 인권교육 프로그램의 효과를 높게 평가하였다.
둘째, 학교에서의 인권교육을 통해 W중학교 학생들의 인권 의식은 긍정적으로 많은 변화를 가져 온 것으로 분석되었다.
셋째, 학교에서의 인권교육을 통해 W중학교 학생들의 인권존중 태도에 미친 성과는 높은 수준이었다.
따라서 학교에서 학생들에게 인간의 평등함 즉, 나와 마찬가지로 모든 인간은 존엄한 존재이며 보호받고 존중되어야 할 소중한 존재라는 것을 인식시키는 인권교육이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 다른 사람을 존중하면 나 또한 소중한 존재로 존중받게 되고 그렇게 되면 친구 간에 따돌림을 한다거나 학교생활에서의 부적응, 나아가 사회적으로 민감한 사안으로 대두되는 학교 폭력 문제에 대한 궁극적 해결방안에 접근할 수 있으리라 생각된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study was to analyse the effect of human rights education in middle school. Human rights, human rights education, fundamental direction of the education, and middle school human rights education program were presented in the study. Study method was to examine six female only classes and six male only classes from each 8th graders and 9th graders in 'W' middle school in Gimhae, KyungSangNam province, and surveyed them with variables of friendliness with classmates, satisfaction with the school life, and the students' grade.
To achieve the goal of the study, the following questions were studied :
1) How the students of 'W' middle school evaluate the human rights education program which is conducted in school.
2) How the 'W' middle school students' awareness of human rights has changed due to the school human rights education?
3) How the 'W' middle school students' attitude toward human rights has changed?
The following are the results analyzed from the questions above :
1) The students evaluated the effect of human rights education program high.
2) From the study, it is assessed that the students' awareness of human rights has been positively changed.
3) Finally, the result on the students' attitude toward human rights was very successful.
Consequently, human rights education, which helps students be aware of all other human beings are respectful and equal, is necessary. Once we respect others, we will be also treated the same, and it will lead us to approach solutions for severe school violence issue and maladjustment in school.
