수행평가 제도에 관한 교사의 인식 = (A) Study on teachers' recognition about performance assessment

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 학생들의 고등정신능력 향상을 위해 최근 교육현장에서 도입된 수행평가에 대한 교사들의 의견을 수렴하여 수행평가의 올바른 정착을 위한 방안을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다.
이를 위해 문헌 고찰과 조사 연구를 병행하였다. 문헌 고찰은 본 연구의 주제와 관련된 학술지 및 선행 연구 문헌을 중심으로 고찰하였으며, 그 결과는 이 연구의 이론적 배경으로 구성되었다. 조사 연구는 연구자가 지도 교수의 자문을 통해 작성한 설문지를 사용하였다. 울산광역시 중학교와 고등학교 교사 중 설문에 참여한 총 313명의 설문지를 기초로 수행평가 제도, 운영, 그리고 개선에 관한 성별, 직위별, 교직경력별, 학급 수별, 학교 급별로 다양한 교사들의 의견을 χ2검증하였다.
이상의 과정을 통하여 얻어진 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 수행평가 제도에 관한 교사들의 인식을 살펴보면, 교사들은 수행평가의 필요성, 수행평가가 다양성과 창의성향상에 미치는 영향, 수행평가 문항의 타당성, 수행평가 문항의 객관성, 수행평가 실시의 투명성, 수행평가의 공정에서 대해서는 대체로 긍정적인 인식을 가지고 있으면서 동시에 수행평가 시행의 어려움을 호소하고 있었다. 교사들이 수행평가 제도의 필요성을 긍정적으로 받아들이고 있다는 것은 향후 수행평가가 안정적으로 정착될 수 있는 기반 역할을 할 것이다. 앞으로 교사의 이러한 노력을 뒷받침 할 수 있는 여러 가지 여건 마련이 필요하다.
둘째, 수행평가 운영에 대한 교사들의 의견을 살펴보면, 평가 유형으로는 서술형 및 논술 형을 가장 많이 활용하고 있었다. 수행평가 계획은 학기 초에 세우고 있었고, 교육 사이트나 동료로부터 수행평가에 관한 많은 정보를 얻고 있었다. 교사들은 기존 평가방식의 수행평가로의 전환, 수행평가가 교수-학습활동 개선에 미치는 영향, 수행평가가 개인의 학습능력에 미치는 영향, 수행평가에 대한 학생들의 참여도에 대해서는 긍정적인 의견을 가지고 있었지만 상급학교 진학에 대한 수행평가의 기여도는 낮다고 보고 있었다. 고등학교의 경우 입시의 영향을 직접적으로 받고 있으므로 수행평가의 정착을 위해서는 대학입시제도의 개선이 필요하며, 평가도구 제작에 관한 연수와 지원이 필요하다.
셋째, 수행평가 개선에 대한 교사들의 의견을 살펴보면, 교사들은 수행평가 문항의 직접적인 개발, 출제와 채점의 공동 관리, 성적 및 평가 결과의 공개, 학교 차원의 비리 규제 장치 마련, 연수 및 홍보활동 강화가 필요하다고 보았다. 평가 중 수행평가가 차지하는 비중은 21～40%가 적절하다고 보았고, 실시횟수는 5회 이내로 제한해야 한다는 의견이 많았다. 수행평가의 활성화를 위해 교육환경 개선이 필요하며 합리적이고 다양한 평가도구 및 과목별 평가기준이 마련되어야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The performance assessment was introduced into schools to enhance the students' critical and creative thinking recently. The purpose of this study is to present the appropriate ways to establish the assessment by analyzing teachers' recognition about it.
For the purpose, the literature research and the investigation research about the performance assessment were used. The Journals and the dissertations on the performance assessment were reviewed to understand the theoretical background about it. The investigation research was conducted to know the teachers' recognition about the performance assessment. The questionnaire used was made out with the help of the nursing professor and 313 school teachers in Ulsan with different sex, status, teaching experience, school level, and the number of classes answered the questionnaire. Their opinions about the system, the management, the improvement measures of the performance assessment were analyzed with the SPSS program.
Results were as follows:
First, according to their opinions about the performance assessment system, the teachers have positive recognition about the need of the performance assessment, the effect of the assessment on creativity, the validity of the performance test items, the objectivity of the assessment, and the fairness of the assessment.
Second, according to their opinions about the performance assessment management, the teachers mostly use the written test or the essay test, plan the performance assessment before every semester, and get a lot of information about the assessment form some websites and the co-workers. They have positive opinions about the effect of the assessment on the improvement of the teaching-learning activities, the students' learning ability, and their participation. But, they don't think that the assessment helps the students to enter higher school.
Finally, according to the teachers' opinions about the improvement measures of the performance assessment, the direct development of the performance assessment items, the cooperative selection and management of the assessment items, the anti-corruption system, the inservice education about the assessment, and the public relation about it are needed. The improvement of eduational environment, and the rational and various assessment standards to each subject are also needed to improve the performance assessment system. They also think that the ideal ratio of the assessment in total test is 21～40% and that the assessment should be conducted less than five times.
According to the results, the teachers consider the performance assessment as an effective way to boost the students' critical thinking and creativity, and improve the teaching and learning activities. But, the improvement of the educational environment is needed for the assessment to be established successfully.
